I know, what I'm asking may sound sacreligious to many on this board (and I myself have been, and likely will remain a HUGE fan of the show) but it's fair to ask if anyone here thinks there was a point when it wasn't as good as it had been.
For me, I think after the Hollywood and European episodes, it jumped because they no longer could have the Ricardos and Mertzes be prosperous yet struggling couples that Middle America could personally identify with which left them with no option but to all move to Connecticut! Yeah, I know there were still some good moments in Connecticut (e.g. the barbeque disaster, and Lucy's runaway power mower, etc), but it wasn't as appealing to me as when the four of them were struggling to make it in the world while raising a young child. |

While I enjoy the series from the first episode to the last, the only thing I didn't care for in the show was all of those vacations post-Hollywood. The Hollywood trip was nice, it was like *we* were going on vacation with them. We saw them plan it, leave, take a few episodes to get there. And then they spent a good amount of time there. But then, after they got back home, they went somewhere else and somewhere else after that.
I liked the Country home episodes as much as I do any of the others. It was a setting change, but it didn't change "Lucy". And even the vacation ones were good, they were just a bit much. |

Somewhere around the time Little Ricky was no longer an infant. Not that he was ever around...
