I've been waiting a long time for "The Lucy Show" to come out on dvd. I'm definitely looking forward to the first season. I hope it happens soon.

I know what you mean. I wish Fox would give us some official word on MTM. I hope they do soon.

didn't MTM, the complete series box set come out?

As for The Lucy Show, CBS Distribution reported on its bible page that it completed the transfer of Season 1 to HD. So that is a VERY positive sign!!

Nope. It was scheduled for May. And, as the above link tells, it has been delayed until later in the year.

Can you post a link? I've looked everywhere and can't find it listed on their site.

I got my info from a fellow poster at Home Theater Forum and they are usually spot on with DVD release news.

From the paramounttv.com website:
This series has been partially transferred into HD and has the following masters:

Network 4x3 HD (Season 1, episodes 1 - 31)

I just checked that out, yes, that is encouraging! Thanx, I'll try to be more patient.

Yes that is good news. They wouldn't have gone to the effort or expense of transferring the prints to HD if a DVD release wasn't in the works, hopefullly sooner rather than later.

Bad news. I just got an e-mail from Paramount saying there are currently no plans for a dvd release of The Lucy Show but "you never know".

I wonder why they didn't keep the Lucy trend going by starting this show on dvd right away. I mean, they released lesser-known shows before this. Is Paramount becoming the new Sony?

UPDATE: Finally some news! Looks like this hasn't hit the CSR people at CBS/Paramount home video. But there is a report from tvshowsondvd.com from their contact. Hope it's true and we finally get Season 1 in its entirety.

Yeah, I was just about to leave a post about today's announcement. Although nothing concrete, it looks like July! Lucy Show AND Here's Lucy THIS SUMMER! Whats up with those Paramount CSR people? What is their purpose if the public knows more than they do?
