Question Favorite movies from each decade? 1930's to the 2000's

I originally made this thread about four or five years ago, but figured I'd resurrect it since it's been so long, and there's so many new members here. Here's my favorites.

1930's: The Wizard of Oz

1940's: ???

1950's Rebel Without A Cause

1960's: The Graduate

1970's: Rocky, One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest, and Summer of 42'

1980's: The Karate Kid

1990's: The Cure

2000's My Flesh And Blood (Documentary)

I forgot about the Days of Wine And Roses, that would definitely be on my 60's list. Great movie!! I was surprised that My Flesh And Blood didn't make your 2000's list Janice!! you once posted that it was the best documentary you had seen in years. That's still the best movie I've seen this decade. I never Imagined a documentary would be one of my 5 all time favorite movies, but it definitely makes the list.

Great list by the way!!

I never liked the Shirley Temple version of A Little Princess. I love the book so much and the movie just got it so wrong. I mean, her dad died - he didn't get amnesia - and what the heck was Queen Victoria doing there??? The BBC did the best adaptation of that book in the 80s with Amelia Shankley and Nigel Havers. I like to pretend this version never happened.

But Shirley Temple definately deserves to be mentioned. I forgot to add my favorite of her films to the 30s list: Curly Top!

And OMG, I can't believe I forgot Miracle on 34th Street! One of Maureen O'Hara's best - and Edmund Gwenn totally deserved that Oscar! Natalie Wood was so darling and John Payne so handsome - talk about the perfect cast!
