Default I can't even watch this show anymore...

....on the Hallmark Channel lol. I HATE IT!

I haven't been too pissy about the GIANT scenes they cut in the episodes, but last night where Big Daddy gets married and Dorothy and Rose write the song....

THEY CUT THAT WHOLE "Miami Is Nice" scene! That was BY FAR one of my favorite scenes EVER in the entire series and they cut it! It was so funny....

"Tickle the ivories."
"Rose, Play or die!"
"Miami....you're cuter than....an interuteran."

My God what the hell are these people who BOTCH this show thinking?! I'm sorry for ranting on like this but it's not like they KEPT a huge scene that Lifetime didn't in place of the scene they cut....Hallmark ****ing blows!

Dorothy: You really haven't grasped the concept of this gay thing yet, have you?
Blanche: There must be homosexuals who date women.
Sophia: Yeah, they're called lesbians.

How about lifetime cutting off the ending credits. I always liked and enjoyed when I saw the original syndicated GG on Fox and they always showed the credits.

I'll take Hallmark over Television for .... any day.

I'm not sure why it matters THAT MUCH about the ending credits? They showed still pictures....it wasn't until the 7th season that they actually had a scene during the closing credits....

Would you rather watch an amazing and funny scene or some names flash over a picture? I don't see how they compare.

LOL. I see your point. But to me it just doesnt feel complete unless I see all the credits without some Lifetime TV Movie ad popping up. Thats the way I watched it was a kid when the show was on the air.

We can always buy the DVD if you're that upset about the edits.

That's my boyfriend's favorite scene in that episode. We even joke about it by playing it on his ipod.

Very stupid to cut out such key scenes like that. You may as well not show it at all.

Thank you Robert! That is one of my favorite scenes EVER! I couldn't believe they cut it. Pisses me off so much, I don't even want to watch it anymore.

I never knew they cut whole scenes like that. Thats the worst editing story I've heard yet! Makes me even more grateful for my Golden Girl Dvds! I too have all 7 seasons. I want the Palace also, but any bootleg version of it would be the Lifetime edited version.

I was thankful enough to get ahold of some VHS copies of The Golden Palace a few years back. They're in really good quality and the original CBS run...so no cuts like Lifetime. Thankfully!

Don't you love how Hallmark just cuts off the show and goes to commercial? The episode where they hire the housekeeper airs tonight which was always one of my favorites. I'll be interested to see how botched that is.

Also, my cable box guide for Hallmark channel and the Golden Girls episode descriptions were wrong all last week for the last night airings. Did anyone else notice this?

I am so glad someone feels the same way!!! I HATE HATE HATE how they cut that scene out when they were writing the Miami song, (one of my favorite scenes too!!!) and I also noticed that when Blanche was being a stage grandma, and Rose and Blanche's grandaughter are reading together at the end of the episode, and Blanche comes in and interrupts, and Rose says something like "Someone is trying to get a story read to them," and it's actually Blanche's grandaughter, Melissa reading to Rose lol!!! Melissa says "And they lived happily ever after." And Rose says something like "They didn't get married?" and then Melissa replies: "That's implied." I loved that scene!!!
I also think they randomly cut to commercial for no particular reason.

I guess I'm just used to watching it on Lifetime all these years, I mean, I'm sure Lifetime chopped it up a bit, but this is really obnoxious!!!
I hope WEtv treats it better!!!

I don't see what y'all are complaining about. At least you still get to watch GG.

My favorite show Mama's Family isnt on the air anymore and the company hasnt even released the 2nd and subsequent seasons on DVD or VHS. And unfortunately I only have 4 episodes of it on tape.

GG is plenty out on DVD you can watch it any 'ol time !

Probably because:

A. We're allowed to.
and
B. The editing ****ing sucks.

I have only watched the show a few times on Hallmark. I watched a few episodes yesterday on WE and they seemed uneditied. I'm not surprised about editing. It happens to a lot of shows that are rerun on cable or local affliliates.

My cable box NEVER has the right episodes listed...I don't know if it's
Hallmark's problem or the cable company's but it irritates me. Sometimes
I look ahead to the 2nd ep and decide whether or not I want to watch it
but I have to wait til the first one is over to know which one it's gonna be
for real.
