Angry RyanAir CEO wants to charge for using the restroom!

http://www.walletpop.com/blog/2009/0...nitely-coming/

Michael O'Leary, CEO of Irish airline RyanAir (at least, I think it's Irish--I may be incorrect), wants to make it to where you have to use a credit card to use the restroom. Can you understand how incredibly callous this is?! I mean, all the fees that airlines normally charge are bad enough (luggage charges, fees to carry on purchases, food and drink charges, etc.), but to pay to use the restroom, and that with a credit card-- that is the epitome of utter stupidity, if you ask me.

It's made worse by the fact that some of the people that use the restroom are children or older adults with bladder problems. If they have to pay to use the restroom, where would we be?!

That is disgusting and inhumane! Relieving oneself is a biological function and no one should have to pay for doing it. They shouldn't even be charging for water, imho.

I'm actually surprised Roy never came up with that idea on Wings

Seriously though, I think this plan will backfire and people will take their business elsewhere. (No pun intended.)

So, so true!!

I had heard that some other airlines were considering this, too! It's outrageous!! The primary reason airlines had started charging all these stupid charges(I still refuse to spend $2 for a drink), is because of the high cost of diesel fuel. That was then. Fuel has gone down. Now sometimes I see it about the same price as unleaded. What's their excuse now??

^ Probably towards the outragoeus salaries, bonuses, and perks for the CEO's and other higher-ups. They'll cut costs and increase fees before they give up fome of their own money. It's the same everywhere. In fact, the superindentent of schools suggested that all staff forego a raise this year; however, those at the administrative level will still get their rasies and face no cuts.

This sounds like a foreign airline. I don't think they can do that here in the states with because of the American with Disabilities Act.

Yeah, the article mentioned it was an Irish airline. Imagine the backlash if this ever DID happen in America??

It's tacky, inhumane, and shows a glaring lack of business acumen. Bet u dollars to doughnuts Mr. Dum Dum CEO will regret the decision big time. I can just see all the BAD publicity now...pictures of grannies doubled up in pain fishing for coins or credit cards etc. and the ill it will engender - esp. on the Internet. People WILL take their business elsewhere - pun and no pun intended.
