1. Greebo

Kate Viscardi (greebo)'s Greebo won this year's top prize in Tom Cox's World's Toughest Cat Competition, which attracted more than 500 entries.

2. Cuba

Naomi Kenton (cubacat)'s Cuba won second place. Kenton says Cuba enjoys "looking like a pimp daddy cat gangster."

3. Polly

Lindsey Jackson-Kay (piggyimp) says Polly "is cute as a button but gave the dog what for! " Polly, who grew up in Wales and whose street name is Furball, took fourth in the competition.

4. Ginger Bisquit

Can you believe that Ginger Biscuit, who belongs to Suzanne Hutchinson (antizan), didn't rank as an official tough cat? What big fangs you have, Ginger! Thanks for sharing.

5. Boots

Nanci Tilley says Boots--named for Puss in Boots in Shrek--caught and ate this mouse. She says: "Boots is just mean and at times hateful. He likes to pose with his pray and have his picture taken."

6. Fuzz

Yvonne Niedermeyer (yvonne68) says Fuzz's bad reputation has already spread around Cleveland, so it's about time the rest of the country got to know this tough cat.

7. Lester & Possum

What a wicked left hook! Andrée Reno (meeyau)'s kitties are in training for next year's competition. Lester was a foster cat, but you can follow Possum's Vermont adventures on her blog.
