Just wanted to see if I am the only one here or not that does this...
I love candles and incense so my place always has a scent going on inside. Usually when I change scents I air out the place and use Lysol so the traces of the previous scent are gone. I usually wait about a day before I start with a new scent My favorite candle scents are chocolate chip cookies, butter cookies, vanilla, and this amazing scent called Moonlight Dream. Basically I like anything except for fruit and flower scents; I can't stand those. For incense I usually use the ones from The Doors and Led Zeppelin. Works amazing when I want to relax and meditate. Do you use candles and/or incense in your place? |

I use so many candles that it looks like Carrie's mom's house!!!
I also put around pot pourri and scented diffusers. I used to use incense, but find the smoke bothers me - no matter what the scent. Scented soy based candles are my favourites. Those Glad melting ones are great - I use the "Berries" scent and it goes all over the house. |

I love incents and I will buy a scented candle every once in a while. The best ones I have found are the Yankee candles. They actually fill the room with beautiful fragrances.

Then again, what better thing did she have to do except pray for Carrie going to the prom with "that boy". Anyhoo, oh, absolutely on the usage of scented candles. I love me some Yankee Candles. Just last night I had a tea light burning in my bathroom - Clean Cotton, one of my faves from Yankee. Some other fave Yankee - Sage & Citrus, Storm Watch(which they stopped making but I still keep a few and not burn them because they smell so good), Patchouli, Fireside, Harvest... I'm like you, James, I don't like the flower scents. Too stinky for me. But I do like the fruit scents. I just burned one called Berry Jam and I also like one they got called Cranberry Mandarin. I also like the spice scented ones, especially the one they sell around the holidays - pumpkin spice, apple pie spice, gingerbread |

^ I'm picky about the floral ones - they can't be overpowering, but rose and freeshia I like. I love the sage and citrus ones, berries, country berries, etc.. I don't like vanilla at all - I'll actually start gagging at the scent - too sweet for me.
I love the gingerbread, cinnamon, and cranberry ones at the holidays too. Not the pine ones though - reminds me of the gas station car fresheners too much! And yah, I have one of those "gun" lighters to go around and light them all - it can take a while and you have to be careful about them. It's only because I don't have my cats with me at the moment that I'm enjoying going crazy with candles. My persian had a habit of swaying his tail over candles the little dummy. |

i like to light candles and like scents that remind me of fall and winter no matter what time of year it is. i was stuck on pumpkin for a while but am now on a balsam/evergreen kick. i basically like any scent though as long as it isn't overpowering. i also like fresh clean scents like melon or fresh linen, stuff like that.

Yeah, few people can't handle incense as the smell can be strong.
I first became interested with it when I used to go to a martial art school for learning Wing Chun. The owner of the place was from China and was a practicing Buddhist so he had a shrine in the back of the school. The younger guys taught the class but the elderly master gave pointers and ran the meditation preparation for the students. I was one of the few that took the meditation seriously as the other people in the class wanted to go right into "the action". The people who wanted to meditate came about an hour before the official class and the old man would teach relaxing techniques. He always had incense burning in the back and the smell consumed the whole place. The old teacher passed away a few years ago and I never forgot what he taught me. So, sort of like a ritual, I light incense and still practice his meditation that he called "Opening To The World". |
