High Hopes

I just recently read a bunch of posts by people, more or less, giving up hope about more seasons coming out on DVD. This is something that I am very sad about! Also, I have mentioned on various threads the similarities between this show and "Gimme a Break!" They were both shown first-run at about the same time and they seemed to be popular with the same generation of viewers. Well, only the first season of that show has been released in this country! Bummer! If you want the second season badly enough you can order it from Canada. Well, after reading some of the recent posts, I have thought of another parrelell in situation. This has to do with bubble bursting! In the same way that our bubbles have been bursted about getting to see more of these classic sereis, Katie's bubble got burst by her sister Samantha's in the third-season episode known as "Samantha's Protest"! For those of you who are interested, I have started threads on this topic all over the "Gimme a Break!" page of this site! Two that are very close to the top are "Hand Clapping" and "Katie's Mits/Julie's Teeth". However, there is one difference in situation that I think is very much worth noting! We are a nice group of people who deserve to see our favorite shows! Katie was a self-involved young lady whose hormones were on roller skates! On her morning stroll, she talked herself into believing that the handsome boy who she walked past was whisteling at her rather than calling his dog! Later, at the protest itself, she acted in a manner that was, in the words of her sister Julie "disgusting"! Because of this, I thought that she deserved to learn that the next day the boy who she was hot for was taking "Samantha" to a movie! What do you guys think of my efforts to compare and contrast the two situations?
