Greg Grunberg plays a mind-reading ex-cop on Heroes, but some overeager fans may have worked themselves into an unnecessary frenzy by trying to read the actor's mind.
Grunberg sent a message to fans via his Twitter account Sunday that caused many to fear the show was ending after its current season. "Winding down shooting Season 3 Heroes," he wrote. "Tough to say goodbye to crew not knowing if any or all of us will return next year. Hope all." The firestorm the comments caused quickly earned a response from Grunberg, who qualified his remarks. "Don't get me wrong, Heroes IS coming back next year, but some crew take other jobs, so it's tough," he wrote. The fans concern about Grunberg's comments isn't without reason. The series earned critical praise and rabid fan adoration during its first seasons, but has very publicly floundered — both creatively and in viewership — ever since. It hit an all-time series low of just below 7 million viewers a week ago, a number it matched with Monday's episode. An NBC spokesperson had no comment on Grunberg's statements, but Angela Bromstad, NBC's president of primetime entertainment, said the show was "very secure" during the Television Critics Association winter press tour in January. No official renewal has been announced. Grunberg is one of several celebs — including Heroes costars Brea Grant (Daphne), James Kyson Lee (Ando) and David H. Lawrence (Eric Doyle, aka the Puppetmaster) — to use Twitter to interact with fans. Other notables include Ashton Kutcher, The Office's Rainn Wilson, The Closer creator James Duff and Late Night host Jimmy Fallon, according to the Los Angeles Times. I hope it isn't cancelled. I still think it is a good show, with a lot of potential.

its still a good show, they just need to refocus on the writing more and get some good plotlines going
they DON'T need to go all ABC on them and cancel the series just because the ratings are slipping a little |
