Kung Fu & Kung Fu: The Legend Continues
Kolchak: The Night Stalker
Batman
Green Hornet, The
Hunter (though the original run from 1984-91 lasted 7 seasons, the 2003 revival should've lasted longer than it did)
Sledge Hammer!
Star Trek (Original)
Lost in Space - I liked the 3rd season of the series more than the 1st 2 seasons for some reason.

Sledgehammer a better timeslot could've saved the show
Firefly
When Things Were Rotten I believe if this show came out in the 90s or 2000s it would have stood a better chance the 70s were just to uptight
Delta House see WTWR
SOF inc if they would stuck with the original premise of the first season and instead of trying to be hip ala Miami Vice and if it weren't for Columbine this show would've lasted longer
Police Squad
The Last Precinct
Danger Theatre
Gilligan's Island
UFO

Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman could have definitely lasted another season. Beth Sullivan had a lot of plans for Season 7 which never happened.

I Dream of Jeannie could have had a 6th season. I would have liked to have seen Tony and Jeannie have a baby.

Family Matters*
Home Improvement**
Our House
(NBC, 1986-88)
State of Grace (ABC/Fox Family, 2001-02)
Step By Step
Three Wishes
(NBC, fall 2005)
The Wonder Years*

* - mainly because they failed to wrap things up

** - I hate how they had that spoof on Jerry Springer as part of "Tool Time". Hey, if they had Laverne and Shirley move to California (with the rest of Milwaukee, at that!), they could have done the same by moving the Taylors to Bloomington, Indiana, and cook up some fresh episodes--perhaps with Tim being the IU basketball coach; Bob Knight was fired not long after HI ended its original run. But I digress!

Well My So-Called Life definetly had potential to last longer than it did. Apparently ABC was thisclose to renewing the show for a second season but Claire Danes decided to back out and focus on her movie career instead and they decided to grant her wish and cancel the series. I've heard that Winnie Holozoman had pretty much already decided what would happen in the second season if the show were to be renewed.

Cybill could have lasted a year or so more. I wish we could have gotten some resolution to that plot.

John Larroquette Show, The - Mainly b/c of NBC's constant meddling with the show after S1, it dipped harder w/ each successive episode.

Dave's World - like WKRP in Cincinnati, this show too fell victim to CBS's consistent timeslot changes.

Buck Rogers in the 25th Century - If they didn't change the show to a Star Trek-like format in S2. Plus it was rumored that Gil Gerard had a hand in the change of the premise for S2 due to his religious faith.

I think most shows are usually perfect at 5 seasons and shows that ended early probably ended early for a reason, because they would have become worse later on (look at what happened to Family Guy before saying a show should have had more seasons).

I have to agree, TJLS should have been a one-season-wonder. I've watched clips around the internet and downloaded the infamous torrent containing an episode from S1 and one from S2. The contrast between the S1 episode and the S2 episode were absolutely appalling. First season John Hemingway is very brooding, self hating and quotes a lot of literature. Second season and beyond John Hemingway turns into a likeable person (To be perfectly honest, I cannot STAND John Larroquette playing likeable, he's best when he's unlikeable!).

I have to disagree about Dave's World, though. I found clips of seasons 3 and 4, I think it actually got BETTER!

the ultimate: Once & Again. that show was so severly mistreated by ABC it's not even funny. They never should have moved it out of the Tuesday night NYPD Blue slot in it's first season. It debuted to stellar reviews and more than decent ratings but NYPD Blue fans were upset that they had to wait until January for the show to air (because O&A was in that slot until mid-season) and they caved and moved the show to a new timeslot. That was the kiss of death the show then got bounced around to different timeslots before it basically lost it's entire audience.

The Associates (1979-80) - This show started off with rave reviews in its 1st few eps., but when ABC was changing execs and the new execs didn't like this show, it was gone after season. Co-incidentally, the most majority of ABC as a whole in the sitcom department by 1980 was a big-time curse year for them.
