TV Katie Cassidy, the daughter of David Cassidy Cast on New Melrose Place

Katie Cassidy, the daughter of David Cassidy, is the first female resident moving into the CW's new "Melrose Place," while Steven R. McQueen, grandson of Steve McQueen, landed a lead on another CW pilot, "Vampire Diaries."

On "Melrose Place," to be directed by David Guggenheim, Cassidy will play the sexy and stylish Ella Flynn, an up-and-coming publicist with a big career ahead of her.

She joins Michael Rady, who was cast as aspiring filmmaker Jonah Miller.

Cassidy, repped by Endeavor and Anonymous, next co-stars on CBS' limited drama series "Harper's Island," a "Ten Litle Indians"-style mystery story set on a remote island. She recurred on CW's "Supernatural" and the WB's "7th Heaven."

"Vampire Diaries," from "Scream" and "Dawson's Creek" mastermind Kevin Williamson, is based on Alloy's series of books. It centers on Elena, a tragic young heroine who is the object of passion for two vampire brothers -- one good, one evil -- who are at war for her soul and for the souls of her friends, family and other residents of the small town in which she resides.

McQueen will play Jeremy, Elena's outcast cute younger brother.

I do enjoy Katie Cassidy, but the role of Ella is apparently supposed to be the new Amanda, and right now I can't see Katie taking that on. Of course no one could ever top Heather Locklear.

Default Katie and David

This is interesting. There was an editorial about the People magazine article that Katie and David did together. This is when David's show Ruby and The Rockets was on the air.

If you click on the link for the comment section, you will see that Katie's mom (Sherry) commented.

David Cassidy: Yet Another Sleazy Hollywood Dad Pimping His Daughter; Likes Lesbian Kissing Scene

By Debbie Schlussel

Longtime readers know I’ve been disgusted (but not surprised) by several sleazy Hollywood dads who pimp their daughters out for dollars. It’s sick, and it’s part of the problem of why America’s kids are becoming sexualized and sexually active at younger and younger ages. Hollywood fathers (and mothers) don’t have values. And they don’t give a second thought to selling their daughter’s flesh for money. . . or a second thought about how it dumbs down American culture.

Non-Parent/Pimpdaddy David Cassidy & Daughter Katie Cassidy
It’s not just Miley Cyrus’ dad (and Sean Vannity friend), Billy Ray Cyrus–who helped his daughter plan and design her stripper pole gyrations on the “Teen Choice Awards.” It’s also Jessica Simpson’s dad, Joe Simpson, talking about his daughter’s “Double Ds” like he’s gushing over a Playboy centerford. And Britney Spears’ father, who talked about his daughter’s physique, too (but was nowhere to be found when she was drugging it up with two sleazy Muslim hanger-on-ers). These, um, “dads” are creepy.
And now it’s absentee dad a/k/a sperm donor David Cassidy. He brags that because he didn’t have custody of her, he “didn’t parent” his daughter, Katie Cassidy, star of this fall’s CW network re-do of the TV series “Melrose Place.” And he thinks it’s cool that his beautiful 22-year-old is in a lesbian kissing scene. The conceited Cassidy seems to be more concerned with the fact that some misguided women still idolize him. Whatta schmuck.

His daughter is doing a lesbian kissing scene, and his response is, “I like that”?! Sick. Sad. Dude, that’s your daughter, not somebody else in a porno flick.
Um, fathers are supposed to be judgmental. They’re supposed to judge and discipline their kids . . . even if they don’t have custody. That’s what being “a normal father” is, something the clueless and over-indulged David Cassidy will never get, sadly.
By the way, look at the photo of the two together (nice pimp suit, David). It’s from the Alliance for Family Entertainment’’s Family Television Awards. Can’t wait ’til that organization tells us what they think of her “family friendly” lesbian kissing scene on prime time TV and her father’s “family friendly” comments about it.
I have to admit that, as a kid in the late ’70s to mid-’80s, I watched Cassidy in after-school re-runs on “The Partridge Family” and had something of a crush. I went backstage to meet him, then, when he appeared in a broadway show on tour that performed in Detroit. But, since then, Cassidy–with his repeated revelations of drug abuse, multiple-marriages, and other queasy stuff in his tell-all books and interviews–has jumped the shark.
These latest comments seal the deal. He’s disgusting
