Whats with season 8? It does not have the pizazz and very good singers this year like the top 12 on Wednesday show they were all freaking terriable, Kris sang MAN In The Mirror,which he moved to the next show. Nic the entertainer, he needs to go, if he is not already gone by tonight. If he is he will be like Sunjaya.

Is it really fair to judge the season when we're only two weeks into the real competition? Not to mention that the same thing has been said about basically every season for the past 4 or 5 seasons.

No, I have to agree - this season has been lackluster and quite boring so far. The funnest thing about it is the banter between Ryan and the judges-LOL. The contestants just seems really dull this year. Sure, there are a few standouts, but that's just it - only a few. It probably also hurts that last season was one of the best seasons of Idol we've had since the early years. There were so many talented vocalists last season.

I'm very bored with this season too. First of all, I HATE the top 36 format. A lot more horrible people made it. The first two weeks of live shows have been the worst I've ever seen. Second, I hate Kara, she is a pointless judge and brings nothing to the table. Simon/Paula/Randy have great chemistry and Kara just doesn't fit.

Couldn't agree more. The contestants are probably some of the worst Idol has ever seen. Most of their problems are performing live - they can't do it. And the format does suck - like I said in another post, only putting through 3 out of 12 contestants each week somehow doesn't seem fair. Give them time for the audience to remember their names.

Kara doesn't fit in. She tries too hard to be a "good" judge, but the problem is, she isn't very likeable. Her comments to the contestants, even to Simon, Paula, and Randy, are usually mean-spirited. She really is pointless, and having 4 judges only makes thing a bit more drawn out and confusing.

i totally agree. i am interested in literally zero people...thats never happened before. i dont know if its because the season sucks or if im just over Idol because i've already found my "Idols" from the show..maybe a combination of both. ive also noticed i hear a LOT less people talking about it this year than previous years.

it seems like theyre going more for the entertainment factor than actually trying to find good singers out of the bunch this year...personally i dont think anyone i've seen so far really stands much of a chance in the music industry, but maybe that'll change.

Last night was the best group yet, though. Not really sure why they put the bad singers together in 2 groups and the good singers together in 1 group.

Kara's continuing to annoy the hell out of me - every week, she seems to get meaner and meaner to everyone around her-LOL. And what I really hate is that "what the hell am I doing here?" look on her. This morning on one of my local radio talkshows, they were talking about her, and every single caller that called in agreed that she needs to go.

i thought last night's group was really boring...i didnt watch it last week though so i cant say how they were.

I thought last night was the best group, however, more than half the singers still outright sucked, with another 3-4 that were okay but not that great. I literally only remember what 2 people sang last night, oh and Kara continues to annoy me. The whole shopping comment was bizarre.

They were the best group, but you're right, some of them still had didn't belong up on that stage. And I find some of their wildcard choices very bizarre - I thought we'd see more people from the final group go through. I knew Lil' Rounds and Scott would make it through. Jorge deserved it, although it was a tossup between him and Felicia Barton for me.

Kara's whole shopping thing really annoyed me - she talked about the girl wasn't showing her personality, although that didn't make sense to me. Seemed to me like Kara was just trying to go for a different kind of comment on that one. This season, I'm really beginning to see how much Randy, Paula, and Simon fit together - Kara just seems to screw things up. I'm really liking Randy this season, too. His comments are almost 100% dead-on. Simon seems to be joking a lot this year as well-LOL
