Smoking episode

There was an early episode where one of the chief's daughters was smoking in her room and keeping it from him. He comes in and catches her mid puff and she winds up blowing smoke in his face. A funny moment, however, even one draw on a cigarette would emit an odor. How could the chief of police not pick up on that?

I have a very vivid memory of this episode and I own it on DVD. I think that the starter of this thread has raised a very good point. Even though Julie was the one that I had a major crush on, it was Katie that made me salavate in this particular episode! I loved the scene in which she was on her way to the shopping spree! In the first place, I thought that she looked very sexy in the jeans that she had on. On top of this, the purse that she put over her shoulder really hit the spot! Ever since pre-addolesence, I have had an appreciation for a babe who has a passion for shopping. I remember her mentioning how if she does not get to the mall right away, all of the designer bikinis will be gone! A bikini is something that I can picture her looking great in!

This is probably the last thread that I will bring to the top of this page before turning in for the night. In this case it is already morning, but you know what I mean! This is one of the many episodes in which they really tried to tackle a controversial issue. I thought that they did it quite decently! What do other fans think?

Over on the "Golden Girl's" page of this site there was a response by a first time poster. This serves as a constant reminder that new people are entering this community all the time! This is one of the reasons that I am bringing some of my old favorites to the top in hopes that new people will offer their points of view. This is the third thread on this particular page that I am responding to this evening. It will probably be at about midnight that I return to see if I already have some responses. In any event, by the time that this episode was shown, the sereis had already dealt with such things as racism, birth control and teen pregnancy. What do other fans thinks of their ability and willingness to tackle this particular issue?

My most recent thread on this page is called "A Hot Iron". This has to do with how frequent the posts have been in the past few days. Becuase it seems that a lot of people are visiting, I decided to strike while the iron is hot and post a message about a topic that I am very interested in! So far, it has zero responses and no views by anyone other than me. However, because I posted it less than an hour ago, this is not very surprising! In any event, also because a lot of people seem to be frequenting this page, I have decided to bring a couple of other oldies but goodies to the top of the page and see what types of responses people give!

There are a lot of sereis in which people will say that, over the years, the same plots get used over and over either with different characters of in slightly different situations. Two good examples of this type of thing are "The Brady Bunch" and "Three's Company". Well, in this particular episode of this show, there was something that was, in a way, mentioned both the season before and the season after! Let us look at the first season episode known as the "Hot Muffins". After the girls did their performance, someone mentioned something about a man in the audience showing with approval by whistleing. I would have to see the episode again to know exactly what happened, but I am pretty sure that the punch like had something to do with it being a blind man communicating with his seeing eye dog. In this episode, we have the chief command Samantha to empty the pockets of her overalls to prove that she had no cigarettes. One of the things that came out of her pocket was a silent whistle. When she blew it Nell and the Chief heard nothing but I dog from outside started to bark! Finaly, we have "Samantha's Protest" with the classic like from Julie "he was not whisteling at you, he was calling his dog"! Is is not amazing how history repeats itself?

I have recently brought to the top of the page three threads that deal with the episode known as "Samantha's Protest". My guess would be that peoples' interest in this topic has died down again. Because of this, I have now decided to bring to the top of the page a thread that pertains to something entirely different!
