We are about a month away from St. Patty's Day.
My dear SO friend Ramona has Irish heritage and background. When you think of this annual holiday, what do you think of? I may not be Irish, but St. Patrick's Day is a day I look forward to for a couple of reasons: 1. Chicago dyes its river green 2. GREEN COOKIES! ![]() 3. McDonald's Shamrock Shake ![]() 4. Clovers (I am superstitous and believe in four-leaf versions bringing good luck!)

I think of college aged idiots...hell, any aged idiots, finding an excuse to go out and get smashed. Other than that, it is of no significance to me. I'm not Irish and I really do not care about it.

I'm not Catholic, I'm not Irish and I don't drink alcohol. So it means practically nothing to me.

Green is my least favorite color so that should tell you how I feel about St Patrick's (I refuse to call it Patty's) day.

We're not Irish but when I was a kid my mom would make shamrock shaped sugar cookies and ice them with green icing.

I'm half Irish. We don't really "celebrate" St. Patrick's Day. I HATE corn beef and cabbage so we definitely don't do that. We do get Irish soda bread; that I do like.
When it comes down to it for me, this is what St. Patrick's Day is for me: ![]() ![]() ![]()

I'm part-Irish, not much, but I am part-Irish.
Here's what St. Pat's Day means to me.... Corned-Beef Dinner.... ![]() and... Van Morrison....

Funny, in Ireland, St. Patrick's day is the one day you DON'T drink
. It's mostly about going to mass and being with your family. People in america use it as an excuse to get hammered.
