Last week on a trip to Los Angeles I included a trip to the neighborhood where Kevin "lived" during "The Wonder Years"! The "516 house" is located in Burbank, by the way. I managed to get two pictures of the Arnold house, as well as one of the first Cooper house across the street at 525 (which didn't come in nearly as well since it was through a windshield at an angle). The Arnold house is no longer green; it is beige now and has been since at least 2003 (I saw this on a fan site).
Interestingly, there is a Winnie Drive off of Barham Boulevard, which connects the Cahuenga Pass section of L. A. to Burbank! |

Today is the one-year anniversary of my visit to the famous house, and I just learned that you can see it at Google Maps! Go to http://maps.google.com, enter "516 university av, 91504" in the line, click "Search maps", and you can see it! (Two photographers have gone by and taken pictures of it, and yes, they recognize it as Kevin's house! Wow, it's become just as popular as the house from The Brady Bunch!)

Thanks James, that's great info.
I looked at the Google Map of the street and checked out the street view. I can still see the final scene of the final episode, which ended with a shot of Kevin's street, with the mountains in the distant background. That's great! "I remember a place, a town, a house, like a lot of houses, a yard like a lot of other yards, on a street, like a lot of other streets... " |
