Default Residuals from DVD sales

Does anyone know if Dick York's estate receives any money from the sales of the DVD releases? I certainly hope so!

Interesting question... i'm curious about any residuals for any of the actors or their estates... does anyone get anything?

After season 5, Liz Montgomery was given a percentage of the show, so based on that I am assuming her family gets some royalties. I am not sure if Dick York's family get anything.

Cool

It didn't become common practice for actors to have residual payments built into their contracts until well into the 70's so it is unlikely anyone from this show (other than Liz as stated in previous post) is getting any money from the DVD sales.

I doubt it, but I could be wrong.

I highly doubt it as well......Although I do know Erin Murphy stated she got some residuals from the DVD sales of "Tabitha"--why?? because they used photos, footage and her voice saying "book" in the opening credits--

At least she got something. Seriously, the residual issue is really sad when you think of someone like Dick York, who was so beloved by the public and died dirt poor. But he really did make lemonade out of lemons doing so much to raise money for the homeless and hungry. One of a kind.

Yes, and I'm sure that Dick has been rewarded far better than he could have ever been on Earth!

I love his quote about Liz "She was sex all over!"

That's very true - Dick York got his reward and then some. I actually wrote to Joey York, c/o the book publisher and she wrote me back!! I still have the index card with her autograph on it - I keep it right next to my autograph from Bill Asher. Sam and Darrin's real life spouses at the time - how cool is that??

Here is a fascinating article (with great pics!) of Dick York published after he passed away:

http://www.bewitched.net/filmfax.htm

Does anyone else cringe whenever Dick York (as Darrin) lights up on camera, knowing that one day he'd die from emphysema?? I want to yell: "NO!! DON'T SMOKE!! IT'S NOT WORTH IT!!!"

Awesome!!!!

One day I will have to scan my Desi Arnaz autograph (not to me, but it is inscribed in a copy of "A Book", which was given to me!)

From what I understand none of the 60's sitcom actors got residuals, if they did it was for a short time only. The cast of Gilligan's Island talked about not receiving any residuals from the show.

Plus Susan Olsen has gone on the record stating that none of the Brady actors receive residuals, either.

Watching the episodes, it is pretty obvious how much he enjoyed those kissing scenes.

Everytime I watch that, it breaks my heart.

He was such a strong and a brave man. A true hero.
