Lightbulb The Birds & The Bees. Who told you?

In movies and on tv, the mother tells the daughter the facts of life, while the father tells the son. I've never known anyone who had this discussion.

When I was little, I remember my mother telling me that the stork delivers babies, but that's it. I actually found out how babies are made when I was about 11, and my best friend told me. Who told you, or did you just figure it out yourself? As a parent, did you ever have to give "the talk"?

To be honest, I actually don't remember who told me. But I don't think it was my parents.

My mom gave me the talk. I think I was about 11 or 12. Not too long after, she chaperoned our class when we went to the Cleveland Health Museum to learn more about the subject. Needless to say, they split the boys and girls up.

They didn't have sex education when I was in school. I'm not even sure if they still do now.

I don't know either. If schools are still giving out free condoms, they should at least back it up with some sex ed.

My mother did when I was 8 or 9. She was always straight forward with me when it came to stuff liek that. When I was 5 I asked her if the stork brought me. Nope, she said, you came out of my vagina. I think it's great she was so honest with me. I think I have such a healthy outlook on sex because of that.

Nobody told me. Father wasnt around and my mother would have been to embarrased. I found out from friends, and from first hand experience.

I'm glad my parents never told me, If my Mom had told me that when I was five I'd probably have slapped her. Some people are open-minded about sex and have no trouble talking about it nor referring to some sexual innuendo everytime they open their mouth but I always found it rather embarrassing to talk about it especially with relatives.

I don't remember much about the talk, but my mom wasn't nearly that direct. I'm the oldest, so I was the one who broke them in. Not always a good thing, but they tried!!

I remember getting a safe sex lecture from my mother when I was around 15. My older sister was 16 when she got pregnant, so she figured she'd try to save me the aggravation.

lol

My mom told me when I was thirteen, but I already knew for years from television and the internet. So it was more of an experience for her to give the talk than it was for me to hear it.... very uncomfortable. It was one of those milestones, though... and I'll never forget it.

My Mom And Dad aren't into discussing such things. They're very modest people.

I had a few Health classes in grade school that explained some things.

Some other things I still have a few questions about.
