Cool

Cool - I remember when one of our local stations showed this late at night. My mom would never let me watch it. Could "Monsters" be too far behind??

When this show originally aired I did not watch it as I was really young. I did see a few episodes here and there in the 90s on random channel surfing.
I was more into Tales From The Crypt because my parents, who are horror fans, watched this when it was on; lasting till the mid 1990s.

I've been waiting for a DVD release of Darkside for a long time.
btw, i never got into Monsters

I'm the same way. I know this is a syndicated show and probably the same as what airs on the Sci- fi channel, but there's just something about being able to watch whatever episodes I want at my own pace. Also the commentary by George Romero is what really made me decide to buy this.

It should be interesting. I've always liked creepy anthology shows.

One of the better recent ones was Showtime's Masters of Horror.

Tales From The Darkside was pretty tame compared to Tales From The Crypt. They had free control to do whatever they wanted because they were HBO and they took full advantage.

I always liked how an adult horror franchise spawned a children's animated series and children's saturday morning game show.

Ironic, isn't it?

As usual CBS screwed up another DVD set. Ugh, it's a good thing I don't remember the original score so it doesn't really bother me. But the transfer quality is seriously lacking.

How much do you wanna bet that if Paramount Home Video (the company's predecessor) was releasing this set, there wouldn't be problems like that?

CBS really needs to stop screwing with the music, and, in some cases, the original closing logos. Rarely, if ever, did Paramount Home Video do any of those.

Paramount did replace music in their sets. They're the same as CBS. They even replaced music on VHS releases before the advent of DVD. I have a VHS of a Star Trek episode that had music replaced. They only put back the original music on the DVD set because of the high price they were charging consumers.

Logos don't really bother me so I can't comment on that.
