What does everyone think of a "Swingtown Convention?" - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

A few of us at a Swingtown website are very adamant about still getting some interest and buzz around this show. So, we came up with what I thought was a clever idea of a Swingtown Convention.

It would just be a weekend stunt, and a good time and vacation for fans of the show. We'd book a hotel and a banquet room and all that (we were looking at Chicago, since that's where the show took place). We'd of course add in the 70's Swingtown theme, with all the music, decor, clothing, food, etc.

We'd also offer activities and things that were in the show (for those who have seen the show, Puzzlerama, twister, a clam bake, music and dancing, pigs in a pickle and rosy-perfection salad, etc). But of course, we'd have to get interest in this idea first, and we'd need a committment from fans, which is turning out to be hard.

So, I was hoping to get your thoughts about this - is this a good idea? If you were or are a fan, would you be interested in coming (and of course, pay for a room and all that)? We're looking at sometime in September, unless someone else has a different idea. We'd also love to see the cast and crew maybe get involved, or maybe even in Bravo.

It sounds very interesting. Although, some might misconstrue this convention as a big swingers party.

Yeah, we talked about that. But, we want to make clear that it's not for swinging, it's for fans of the show who want to get together, enjoy the time, and have a great weekend.

Hopefully we'll be able to get that point across.
