In the 1st season and a half, Webster and the Padadopolises lived in an apartment complex, while from late S2 and the rest of the series' run, they lived in the Victorian house.
So I got a few questions here: Does anyone know the locations of where they videotaped the apartment and Victorian houses? I notice that in the 1st/pilot episode, the inside of the apartment seems to be facing off towards Lake Michigan, while the rest of the apartment eps. face off more towards another building in Chicago than Lake Michigan. Also in the 1st episode, the apartment almost appears to be near Lake Shore Drive, b/c in the transitional scenes at night, they have the apartment facing Lake Michigan. |

I found a picture of what looks like the exterior of the apartment that they lived in during the 1st year and a quarter of Webster.
Type this address in on a map search site like Google Earth, Map Quest, or Google Maps and you'll see the exterior of the apartment they used in S1 and the 1st quarter of S2. Type in the location located at: 10430 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles, CA and see what happens. |

Interesting.
I enjoy looking up the building featured in the old shows, even though none of the show was actually filmed in these buildings. The one from the Jeffersons is still in New York, while it has changed a lot since the show used it's exterior on some of the episodes. While the building in Chicago that was used on Good Times was torn down in the last 5 or 6 years to make room for a new building. |
