Archie Bunker In Finland
My roommate is from Finland and we talked about American culture that made its way over to her native country. She remembers watching All In The Family growing up and that her father loved Archie Bunker. He thought Archie was hilarious.
American shows in Finland are shown with the original American soundtrack with Finnish subtitles. A few years ago, TV Land was showing an Archie Bunker's Place rerun. My roommate looked at me and said "What's this?" I explained that they changed the title of the show once Edith, Mike & Gloria were gone and focused more on Archie running the bar. She had never heard of it or seen it before. I guess we take our culture for granted sometimes. |
