Default Are snuggies for people who don't have HEAT in their house?-lol

everytime I see these commercials I laugh because I need feel the need to be covered up while watching tv on the couch. It's only when you go to bed.

this has to be the goofiest advertisement of all time

haha, i wouldn't necessarily deem it useless, but i think going through with the invention of it was too much. it's just a blanket with sleeves.

I'm still going to buy you a Green Snuggie, Solomon, so you can stop with the jokes.

My mother bought me a Snuggie knock-off as a joke last Christmas. It's actually warm and cozy. That commercial does make me laugh

That Snuggie actually looks quite cool - kind of like a robe. Makes me want to buy one and wear it in public. I'd look strange, but that would be the fun of it!

Hey, as long as it's warm, I don't care how ridiculous it looks.

Default The Snuggie Reaches Cult Status

Link

We've all seen the commercials and they are apparently working.

The Snuggie -- the fleece blanket with sleeves -- has been purchased by approximately 4 million consumers and has a cult following on the Internet.

There are nearly 250 Snuggie groups on Facebook with thousands of members, and hundreds of parody videos on YouTube are getting thousands of views.

Snuggies began selling in August and the TV ads were seen shortly after. With an attractive price (two for $19.95, plus free book light online and on TV, about $14.99 for one in stores) and catchy commercials, they became a huge seller this holiday season.

But it's not all good news in Snuggieville. Many of the Facebook groups are anti-Snuggie, and the Internet is filled with complaints of people being overcharged, not getting their orders or waiting much longer than four to six weeks for their Snuggies to arrive.

Nevertheless, the Snuggie is now a part of Americana and joins a memorable list successful infomercials.

Who could forget these classics?

Chia Pet - The figurines that grow as you water them were an instant hit when they came on the scene in the early '80s. Millions continue to be sold around the world as new Chias are created. The original Chia Pet commercial has been viewed on YouTube more than 115,000 times and the latest Chia is made out of the likeness of President Barack Obama.

The Clapper - Joseph Enterprises, the same makers of the Chia Pet, first introduced The Clapper in 1986. Its marketing slogan -- "Clap On! Clap Off!" -- made it an instant success. It has been featured throughout pop culture in movies and TV. The Clapper has a big Internet presence and the original commercial has been viewed more than 63,000 times on YouTube.

Thighmaster - Suzanne Somers may be more famous for being the Thighmaster spokeperson than for being on "Three's Company" or any other TV shows or movies she was in. The product first appeared on TV in 1991 and helped lead to the popularity of other fitness products such as the Buttmaster and Ab Roller. About 68,000 people have viewed the original Thighmaster commercial on YouTube.

Mighty Putty - More recently, Mighty Putty has achieved cult status with infomercial super star Billy Mays pushing the product. With his demonstrations of using the product to fill cracks, fix leaks and repair a chain pulling a tractor, Mays and Mighty Putty have become a 21st Century Internet sensation. Nearly 100,000 people have viewed the original commercial on YouTube.

Sham Wow - Claiming to be like a towel, chamois and sponge all in one, the Sham Wow burst on the scene a few years ago and gained instant notoriety. It used a low-budget approach of a boisterous spokesperson, Vince, showing the product sopping up one mess after another on a table. Nearly 114,000 people have checked out Vince and his Sham Wow demonstrations on YouTube.
