I am so displeased with this website deleting some of my favorite videos because of some stupid copy right infridgements. What harm is it to have episodes posted of some TV Shows? There are people that will still buy the DVDs. These actors, actresses, and people that run these shows need to stop being so greedy and let people watch these videos on YouTube. If they lived on my salary, they would cry their eyes out.

it isn't really youtube's fault though...they remove copyrighted videos so they don't get sued. they're under a microscope by copyright bullies like viacom.

in the meantime, there are several programs that allow you to save videos to your computer before they get removed from youtube. from what i understand, you can enter a URL to a video at http://keepvid.com/ and save it without having to download any software.

I agree with you. These studios would rather let a show rot in a vault somewhere than let anyone see any part of it.

If you read what some of these other posters said, Youtube is not really
the one at fault. They remove these videos so they won't get in trouble
with the companies that own the copyright to these videos. Blame them,
not youtube. I think you should change the title of the thread to knock
it off copyright nazis.

I've noticed this specifically with NBC shows like SNL. I think I read some time back that they pull all of their shows from You Tube.
When I want to re-watch an SNL sketch, it's taken down from You Tube within hours of its posting, sometimes even quicker than that. And nbc.com doesn't always have all of the clips in their library. You Tube is just so much more convenient.

I stopped frequenting youtube when I found out they allowed animal torture videos and those burning of the eucharist videos to be posted.

I think Viacom, NBC and all these other "copyright nazis" are NUTS! (I'm a author and I'm saying this!) If anything, if they let people put the old show clips on a place like YouTube, they can get new fans for their old shows and, therefore make more money by selling DVD sets to those fans of shows they fell in love with on YouTube (As an example, that's how I got into Howdy Doody - via YouTube - and now I own several sets of both the original and 1970's shows because they were PURCHASED).

Youtube sucks these days. You can't find much of anything there. Before long they'll be out of business if they don't stick up for themselves.
