Default Shows You Predict will end in May or burn out before September

I don't know if anyone ever does this, but I figure, why not start in 2009!
List all the shows you see cancelled in May and why. NBC will def. have the most due to the 10PM hour going to Jay Leno in the fall.

CBS:
Worst Week
Million Dollar Password (Is Most Likely gone for good now)

The New Adventures of Old Christine - If this gets cancelled, it's cause Rules of Engagement comes back with a bang! If not, we should see 6 comedies (Big Bang Theory, How I Met your Mother, Two and a Half Men, Gary Unmarried, Rules of Engagement) return next season, of course, not including Worst Week.

NBC:
Deal or No Deal (Primetime)

Knight Rider

My Name is Earl

Kath and Kim

Friday Night Lights

Law & Order (there was talk when Jay got picked up for 10pm that this is a possible cancellation. I'm sure SVU is safe).

Kings - I don't see any midseason show for NBC making it to next season, besides the possiblity of John Well's, Southland.

FOX:
Prision Break (Cancelled already)

Sarah Connor (Most Likely since sent to the Friday night death slot)

Til Death - Although it's been renewed for an additional 22 episode 4th season, making its grand total of episodes yet to air 37, I think FOX might just burn it off in the summer so they can sell the show to syndication.

ABC:
Scrubs - New fan, seen alot...shouldn't continue without JD.
According to Jim (CANCELLED).

The CW:
One tree hill
Everybody Hates Chris
The Game

ABC:

Scrubs: I don't think it will be able to hold onto the numbers ABC wants to keep it going another season, even w/out Zack Braff.

Private Practice: i don't see this show making it another season

Pushing Dasisies: it's already decided basically

Eli Stone: it's a goner

Dirty Sexy Money: already cancelled

CBS:

Worst Week: it's such a low rated show

NBC:

Knight Rider: nothing can save this show

Kath & Kim: a disaster on every level

My Name Is Earl

Chuck: it's ratings get worse each week

My Own worst enemy: already cancelled

FOX:

Prison Break: already cancelled

Fringe: people are already over it

Dollhouse: this one looks like a loser

Til Death: if there is any justice at all

CW:
Priviliged: nobody could call this show a hit

90210: if the ratings keep declining it's all but canned by the summer

Supernatural: can't believe it's still on

One Tree Hill: please stop already

I was so looking forward to one of my old fave game shows coming back (Password), then, they ruin it by adding Regis Philbin and make it more like "Who wants to be a millionaire"....FANS OF PASSWORD WANT TO WATCH THE GAME, NOT THE "MONEY ROUND"!!!!!!!!!

Let's see ...

ABC: Desperate Housewives, Wife Swap
CBS: Big Brother, Eleventh Hour, Rules of Engagement, Two and a Half Men
NBC: Fear Itself
FOX: American Dad, Family Guy, Fringe, The Simpsons
CW: Gossip Girl, 90210
MyNetworkTV: WWE Friday Night Smackdown!

That's all I can think of at the moment.

There's no way Family Guy should be on a cancellation list.

Today's producers totally miss the boat. They take out everything that made the previous incarnations so much fun.

I like this thread! Interesting to see what everyone predicts will get canned.

CBS:
Worst Week is definitely a goner. Last airing it only got 10 mil. compared to Men's 17 mil. That kind of retention makes it one of the biggest losers of the week. And knowing Nina Tassler, she won't officially cancel it until May, but you gotta know its chances at renewal are slim.

I still don't get MDP. It was getting 10 million for its 2 airings on Sundays - even with the low demo, I still don't see why it was pulled. I don't think it's done, though. They could be saving it for summer.

I think Old Christine and Gary Unmarried are still up in the air (who knows - CBS could end up canning both in May). Old Christine can obviously pull in more viewers, but Gary Unmarried can pull in a slightly better demo. This week, Christine and GU went up against Idol for the first time, and both held their own very well. But, Christine pulled in more viewers at 8pm than GU at 8:30. Things like that could make CBS go in favor of Gary Unmarried.

And then there's the ROE factor - if it does well, then it'll be back in the fall. If it doesn't do so hot, things could be switched up by May.

Eleventh Hour and The Unit are also in trouble - I think this will end up being The Unit's last season, maybe with Eleventh Hour coming back next midseason.

ABC:
According to Jim is a goner. And ABC just about announced this to be Scrub's last season. True Beauty will probably get cancelled in May as well. I think everything else is a toss-up, though - the midseason dramas could all do well, or all bomb. Life on Mars could come back strong out of Lost, or it could not.

Here's what I think: I think all there current shows besides the 2 comedies are pretty good for safe next season. 1 or 2 of the midseason dramas will probably get canned, though.

NBC:
My Own Worst Enemy, Knight Rider, and Kath and Kim are pretty good for being goners. Hitting series lows all season, this will probably be My Name is Earl's last season. Life will also probably get cancelled, although it has a 50:50 chance. There's been some talk of Lipstick Jungle making a possible return, but even though the demo for the show is always decent, it's like Swingtown - good demo, loyal fanbase, but no renewal. Friday Night Lights is also a goner. It's had too many chances, but low premiere numbers last night.

Not sure about Law and Order - it still does decent for them. They could bring it back for midseason or as a back-up series. Chuck is pretty safe - good demo, and decent overall ratings. Biggest Loser and SVU are definitely safe. The Apprentice will probably be back next season as well. Not sure about the midseason dramas. Medium will probably be back.

FOX:
Til Death will probably be burned off either this summer or even next summer. Isn't there something like 40 episodes now to burn off? They have something like 20 in the can, and I doubt they could film 20 episodes by summer, so FOX could air 20 this summer, and 20 next summer, and call it quits.

Prison Break is done. Sarah Conner is definitely a goner. Fringe isn't looking too promising at this point, and neither is Dollhouse. Besides that, everything else should be safe.

I think you hit the nail on the head on this one. I was disappointed to hear CBS pulled this one, but I don't think I'll cry a river if it never comes back.
Watching the Best of Password DVD makes it all so clear on why the original worked and why that format ran so long.

every since Millionaire reignited prime time game shows a few years back, it seems every game show revival (or even new ones) has to be a variation on the Millionaire formula --big flashy, space age set, big money prize, variations on the lifelines.

Yes - that's why they all seem the same.

Desperate Housewives definetly will not be cancelled this year. in fact as of right now it looks as though ABC is going to convince Mark Cherry to extend the shows contract through the 2011-2012 season.

Wife Swap could be cancelled, same with Supernanny.

Two and a half men is the highest rated comedy on TV it's safe.

and they all stink.

you know what game show i want to see them make a new version of... The 100,00 dollar Pyramid. I LOVED that show, i loved watching reruns of the 70's/80's version and the more recent 90's remake with Donny Osmond. I'd love to see this done in primetime, but please with anyone but Regis hosting.

I liked Donny's version of Pyramid. I'm really not a big game show person, but I was a BIG fan of The Weakest Link, especially the syndicated version with George Gray. I even have an autographed picture of him!
