question about Helen & Andy - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

One of the episodes aired tonight was when Helen & Andy went to Raleigh {?} and needed to get a license and when Andy called Goober assumed he meant marriage license and half of Mayberry showed up thinking they had gotten married.

I remember seeing a follow up special years after the show went off the air where Opie had married and his wife was having a baby and Andy delivered his grandson. If not mistaken I believe Helen & Andy had married--am I right?

Yep- there was a spin-off show called "Mayberry, R.F.D." and the very first episode is called "Andy and Helen Get Married"- so yes, they do indeed get married. However, what you're probably thinking of is the 1986 reunion TV-movie called "Return to Mayberry", in which Opie is all grown up and delivering a grandson for Andy and Helen with his own wife. This special was released on DVD in The Andy Griffith Show Complete Series set only. Hope that helps.
