Default American Life Network

Anybody here know about or are familiar with the cable channel.

Most of the day they show informercials, but from 8pm to late night they show classic TV shows.

Like:

Combat
The Rat Patrol
Batman
The Green Hornet
Burke's Law
Mission Impossible
Lost In Space
Land of the Giants
Voyage To The Bottom of the Sea

They have a flaw:

They show a couple of 80's shows

Last night these friends of mine were discussing the channel and whenever Herb and Wizzybit(not their real names) watch it they call it "the Mickey channel" or "Mickey TV".

Just had to share that.

Is there something wrong with '80s shows or is there not enough?

I prefer shows from the 50's and 60's. Those are my faves. Didnt really get into 80's shows.

Well, I do like Family Ties, Amen, and The Golden Girls. I'm looking forward to seeing forward to seeing Mr. Belvedere when it comes to DVD in a few months. But I like shows from the 60s and 70s better.

My cable offered this channel years ago on its expanded basic, then later moved it to the digital tier, but for some reason dropped it later. I still don't understand why DISH and DirecTV don't add it.

Have they gotten past just showing the first season of MTM and others over and over?

It would be way cool if they would stick to 50's and 60's show, and if they would show the old rock and roll TV shows like Shindig, Hullabaloo, Shivaree, Where The Action Is, and American bandstand

Don't know how much of the old rock and roll shows still exist--much less the music rights would prolly be outrageous to even consider a rerun.

Sadly, you're right. I'd LOVE to see Solid Gold again, but with licensing costs, I don't think that'll happen anytime soon.

Those horrid hacked up reruns on Vh-1 several years back were just dis-heartening. Same goes for American Bandstand on Vh-1.
