I really enjoyed this episode--it had lots of dramatic tension in it and was not the typical "let's ham it up for laughs" episode. Bud wants a new outboard motor so they can go fishing. He makes a deal that if he brings his science grade from a D to a B, he will get the motor. However, despite his best efforts at studying, Bud still only manages a C, thanks to circumstantial evidence making look like he cheated from the A student. The teacher tells Bud he would have to make an almost perfect score on the big science exam in order to get that B. When Bud makes a 99, he is suspected of cheating, due again to the fact that it appeared he had peaked at the teacher's key sheet with the exam answers. Jim and Margaret refuse to believe that Bud would cheat--just to get that motor. So they ask the teacher to give Bud an oral exam, with questions not on the written exam. When Bud gives correct answers, the look of relief on their faces is priceless--they have not failed their son with their parenting and he did not disappoint them with his studying.

I also enjoyed that one, too bad the teacher didn't believe him.

I found that the teacher was awfully quick to jump to the wrong conclusions!
