Alright, alright. I'm in the Disney mood. So, what's your favorite Disney princess movie?
I'm going with Beauty and the Beast. It was always my favorite as a kid, especially because it's the girl who saves the guy in the end. The music from it is great, too. I love them all, though. I was such a Disney kid.

It's a tossup between "Sleeping Beauty" and "The Little Mermaid." Both had
formiddable villains (Maleficent and Ursula, respectively). The sidekicks (the three fairies in the former; and Sebastian, Flounder and Scuttle in the latter) were funny. However, Princess Aurora ("Sleeping Beauty"), like most Disney heroines, is little more than a one-note character. I think Ariel ("The Little Mermaid") had a little more edge to her; she had that whole teen angst thing going on. So, I'll have to go with "The Little Mermaid." But, if "Pocahontas" and "Mulan" count, both of them had very strong female leads. Between those two, I'd have to pick Mulan. She passed herself off as a soldier and did a heck of a job at it, too. |
