Let me first say that anytime you win a playoff game in this league especially on the road you deserve a tip of the cap..so i tip my hat to to the eagles, the ravens, the cardinals & the chargers...Winning in the playoffs is not easy.
My thoughts on this game are as follows: I honest to god feel like we escaped the metrodome today with a win. I can't shake that feeling, I am not sure why I feel that way, but I do. The vikings were very game today & they gave it their best shot, but in the end the better team came away with the W. I am very very happy with the job the defense did today, although the sacks & what not didn't come, I feel the defense minus that one run by peterson did one heck of a job today. My man BDAWK was all over the field as usual swarming to the football looking like he is 25 years old.. God Bless Him... 60 million dollars was given to assante samuel this off season to do just what he did today PICK 6..... I am not his biggest fan to be honest with you, but he is one hell of a football player. I knew at some point someone on that defense was going to make a play & kind of jump start the team & number 22 came thru in a big way... The vikings offensive line is one heck of a unit, & they did a nice job picking up the eagles blitzes today. I thought the eagles were going to blitz right off the bus & they did...VERY FIRST PLAY, then they kind of backed off the blitzes for a bit & they were used here & there. I thought for the most part it was a very good scheme JJ called today, he confused the heck out of Jackson in the second half... He made some big time adjustments at halftime & called some really unique plays that really confused him most of the 2nd half. The eagles are a ball hawking defense & they are constantly around the QB, but I think jackson handled it well early on & then kind of melted in the pressure of the 2nd half. The defense lead the way today & I am proud of them. Onto the offense: I think the vikings had a very good scheme drawn up today, but I kept saying to myself, No team can completely shut down westbrook, he is going to make a play here sooner or later, I knew it would happen then with 6:26 remaining WA LA he takes it to the house... I was a bit upset with the protection of mcnabb today.. I know they had to 2x jared allen... I get that, but it just appeared DMAC could not get into a rhythm much today...] I think the biggest plays of this game were 2 drives the eagles had in the 2nd half that resulted in 0 points.... When the vikings pinned the eagles deep 2 straight drives & the eagles converted 2 huge 3rd & longs to get themselves some breathing room, that was absolutely huge... HUGE.. In both cases we got it to midfield before punting... Again no points came out of it but it tilted the ever important field position game back towards the eagles & on this day the vikings were not going to drive the length of the football field & score on us... I don't care what anyone says those 2 drives stick in my memory & when I watch the game again here in a little bit I will probably feel the same way.... The offense was shaky at times, but they were good when they had to be & that is why the eagles advanced & the vikings did not.... Again with all this said, I personally feel the eagles escaped today, as well as certain aspects went & with all the positves I mentioned, the happy to be alive feeling is running thru my green veins at this moment. If they play this way next week the giants will beat us.. Plain & simple... They have to execute alot better on offense next week if they want to dethrone the champs... I am already counting the hours & minutes till next sunday at 1 & I am licking my chops at the thought of ending the giants reign as champs... It will not be easy, they are still the champs until someone beats them & although I hate everything about that stinkin franchise I do respect what they did last year & in fact what they did last year is giving me hope & proof that it is not impossible that my beloved team can pull this thing off........... Nice Job boys... You won today in a hostile stadium, the road gets harder from here, I Know it, you know it & they know it & my last words are these:..Man does it feel good to win in the playoffs!!!!!! 1 down & 3 to go!!!!!!!! |

I'm not surprised by anything that happened
Tavaris Jackson, 1 INT, 1 Fumble, and 3 more that could have been picked off. Born Loser-lol Now it's a giants/eagles showdown at the meadowlands |

I don't know. Donovan looked into rhythm for me. 23/34. I mean I agree about the protection, but it wasn't like he was throwing erratic either. I think Donovan got into rhythm on the 2 drives you mention, which I agree with, gave us a lot of breathing room and took time off the clock, which was key, but I think DMAC did great.
Jackson and the Special teams were fantastic. Mike, check out my thoughts on the game in here from earlier. Great win though Birds! GO EAGLES. Kick the Midgets in the mouth. |

Usually DMAC has all the time in the world to throw, today he seemed under the gun alot more than usual.. I know the vikes have a great front 4, but to me the eagles OLINE seemed a bit off today... Just my opinion Don't get me wrong I think dmac had a good efficent game, something was just missing today, I can't put my finger on it.... I just read your thoughts... If I had seen your thread, I would not have made a separate one..LOL |

Yep I will be at the game for sure..already have the ticket in my possession, & yes I will be greeting them on saturday & i will more than likely be staying at the hotel as well, but I am not sure on that yet, I like to keep things the same & earlier this season, I greeted them at the hotel & hung out for a little while but I did not stay there that night... I went back home.. I am very superstitious so I may do the same thing this week... Only time will tell on that LOL |

This game will show whether Steve Spagnola is qualified to be a NFL headcoach. There will no excuse for the Giants defense not to shutdown Westbrook like the Vikings did until that 71 yd boo-boo
No excuse, at all. |

Look at the teams the Giants shut down defensively- Dallas and Green Bay avaeraged about 445 points last season, and the Patriots had scored a record 589 points last year. Giants can shut down good offensive attacks. Sol, do some research, man. |
