Would it be possible to put the user info ABOVE the post like a lot of other vBulletin boards use? You can see an example at the vBulletin community board. I like that look more, it doesn't seem as cluttered. Has this been considered? It basically puts the profile info beside the post above it instead.

That would be possible, but I don't think it would be very popular. People are used to the look we've had going back even before vBulletin. The giant 150x150 avatars would not look good above the posts.
