Satanic Cult Murders

I remember this case about two teens ( boy and girl), who joined a Satanic cult. After a little bit, they both wanted out after hearing that the cult committed murders in the community. They tell the cops, and show the officer the gun they were given by the cult. On the 4th of July, they went to the lake to view fireworks, and vanished. A guy who was in the boat on the lake, witness the two being harassed by a bunch of males, and the whole scene got violent.

I'm bad with names..

Anyway, does anyone know if there is any updates on the case?

This case bugs the hell out of me. It seems clear that both, Shane Stewart and Sally McNally, were most likely killed by the group of youths they used to hang around. Yet, there's no justice for either one.

It must be painful for their parents to not have any closure. Depressing...

I don't believe this was a Satanic cult, more like a group of young misfits playing role-playing games, shouting arse about Satan, engaging in petty crimes to finance their drugs, and engage in group sex under intoxication.

Watch the film Bully. The group of jock friends is engaging in similar behaviors, but this time in trendy Californian suburbs. And again they turned against one of their own, this time because the "victim" was a psychopath that wouldn't stop his abuses.

Still incredibly painful for Shane Stewart and Sally McNeely's families, though. Just because they were teenagers that wanted to get along with a group of friends that accepted them as their peers.

This is one of the cases that I always hoped would be solved. You would think if teenagers had killed them, they would have talked by now (to a friend or something)

Of course though, no one has come forward about who attacked Jennifer Pratt so...

I saw the film Bully and read the book as well. It was in Florida I believe.

I agree with you that the satanism aspect is blown out of proportion.

However, I don't think we can rule out how dangerous their "friends" could have been. Both Shane and Sally seemed uneasy about snitching on them. They must had fear of reprisal. It's also a bit strange Shane and Sally told the police about the group, and then both ended up dead.
