Default Why All The Hatred?

Can someone explain to me why this show is hated as much as it is? The only explanation I can come up with is that all the people that hate the show are die hard Cybill fans that know about her rocky professional relationship with Chuck Lorre. I seem to recall Dharma and Greg getting the same amount of hate over 10 years ago.

Because it's unfunny, cliche, predictable and Charlie Sheen is satan.

I also notice that the majority of the people that hate 21/2 Men are rabidly into flimsily written shaky cam comedies that rely on random humor (Boston Failure, Arrested Development, 30 Rock, The Office), which are, in essence, the new age cult Seinfelds. I never liked Seinfeld either.
I like Chuck Lorre and it seems like he's never recieved the respect he deserves because he produces "laugh track comedies".

I'll take a shaky camera "random" as you say humor show over Dharma and Greg and Two And A Half Men any day.

The only reason I can think of people hating Dharma and Greg is well, because it's Dharma And Greg.

I've never seen the show but Bob Dylan appeared in an episode once.

Dylan's cool.

And I like Arrested Development.

I don't like it because in the nine episodes I've watched, I laughed only once. I HATE the show because it's the number one comedy series and it's going to have at least nine seasons total.

So for me, I hate it because it's so popular and I don't find it funny at all. But everyone I know loves the show, so I'm always having to defend myself for not liking it. And for the record, I don't like "Cybill" either. I do, however, like Chuck Lorre's other sitcom "The Big Bang Theory."

As for sitcoms I like: NewsRadio, Wings, Taxi, Ellen, The Odd Couple, The Honeymooners, That '70s Show, Curb Your Enthusiasm, I Love Lucy, The Abbott and Costello Show, Happy Days, Boy Meets World, My Name Is Earl, 'Til Death, 8 Simple Rules, The Dick Van Dyke Show, Cheers, F Troop, The Munsters, Charles in Charge, The Monkees, Andy Richter Controls the Universe, Family Guy, Futurama, Scrubs, My Three Sons, The Donna Reed Show, Make Room for Daddy, Night Court, Three's Company, Hearts Afire, The King of Queens, The Joey Bishop Show...

So there's a wide variety of sitcoms I like, even though I hate "Two and a Half Men."

The reason I dislike "Two and a Half Men," is because I can't stand Charlie Sheen as an actor. He can't do a scene without having a beer bottle or some other beverage in his hand to swig after his "witty" comeback line. The only time he doesn't have a beverage in his hand, is when he's ushering his latest bimbo up the stairs to bed. He needs a prop to do every scene.

Then why the hell do you watch it then? Unless you're telling me you got all that insight from one episode, then why watch it?

There are a lot of shows I don't like, such as these so-called "reality" shows that are sucking the life out of TV. I don't watch them...I don't talk about them on forums...I just don't waste a second of my life with them.

I've watched maybe two episodes from beginning to end. The other times I've caught a scene or two, while channel surfing during commercials. So I am not a regular viewer. And the reason I'm not a regular viewer, is because I'm not a fan of Charlie Sheen, who dominates most of the show. I'm not strapped into a chair forcing myself to watch it, just so I can complain about it. I'm just stating my opinion, which is what discussion forums are all about.

The use of props offends you? How about physical comedy like the kind John Ritter used to do on Three's Company? I dunno, to each his own I guess, but the hatred of props is funny in itself. Heh,heh. I like Big Bang Theory too by the way.
I think that Two and A Half Men could easily run for another 9 seasons if they wanted to. The possible topics and story lines could go on forever.

Spare me that tired cliche. Besides the obviousness of such a statement, you need to realize when you post your opinion...guess what? People are going to comment right back. After all, that's what discussion forums are all about.
