Default Eagles Redskins thoughts

First off let me congratulate garfieldkool.... Your team did it to me again pal, they were the better yesterday & you should be proud your team hasn't cashed in their chips....

Now on to my thoughts.... Well let me first say again that amtrak is the way to travel!!! Nice relaxing trip down & considering all circumstances a nice relaxing trip back tonight.

It really boggles my mind how the eagles can be so jekyl & hyde... They look so good against the giants, the cardinals & the browns & they play one of their worst offensive games of the year when they control their own destiny for the big dance... I just don't get it... I have not watched the tape, but I am willing to bet that andy reid took the play calling duties back yesterday... That looked like an andy reid game plan to me.

Lets see 10 rushes for the game??? WHat are you kidding me?? How the hell do you think we have had so much sucess in the last 3 weeks?? The run does & always will set up the pass but uncle andy feels the pass sets up the run.... Great philiosphy... & speaking of philospohy, pnce again a hell of a 2 minute drill to end the game... How many games do we have to lose this year before mcnabb or our wr's know that they should not stop short of the goal line hope you can squeeze in after making the catch??? That was a heartbreaking but fitting end to the eagles season..

I am sitting down by the field at fed ex yesterday watching the eagles warmup, which by the way is about 150 -200 feet from where the hogettes do their thing.... Let me tell you, what a joy it is to have to listen to their horrendous voices while I am trying to watch my team warm up...some of the american idol rejects ahve better voices... Usually I am quite focused on watching my boys warm up, but yesterday I was scoreboard watching as the early games were drawing to a conclusion & It became apparent the eagles were about to control their own destiny. When the tampa game went final I got a little bit of a jump in my step & suddenly got even more fired up then I usually do, i tried to transfer my energy to the team during warmups, making sure they knew exactly what had happened in the early games....

I had a feeling very early on that it was going to be a battle, the first 2 eagles possessions were horrendous, but the defense bailed us out (as they did most of the afternoon)... I understand that the eagles had 2 starting recievers out, I get that, but the guys we had in the game yesterday (minus reggie brown who can't be cut fast enough if you ask me) the other guys (djax, avant) have been making play after play after play lately & it appeared neither one of them had any idea how big a game it was. LJ smith is a tool & he must go, franchise player eh?????? Puhhhhhhlease All that guy does is drop passes & he is a waste of space & i will not shed a tear when he is not resigned.

I am very proud of the defense. BDAWK, COLE, PARKER, BRADLEY, LITO, SHELDON all had truly great games & i could not be happier with them. Dawkins is a beast & raises his level of play in big games like yesterday....

I sat in my seat yesterday at fed ex just scratching my head most of the day, wondering how a team can look that pathetic in a huge destiny driven game... I just don't get it.

The shuttle ride back to my hotel after the game was quite comical.. There was about 20 eagle fans on the bus to the hotel & the other 80 or so were redskins fans. I have been going to fed ex for a number of years, but it was very obvious to me , more so this year than any other year that the redskins fans really do not like the eagles. In years gone by I would go there & get heckled a bit, but yesterday i was heckled everytime I made a move & i can't tell you how many EAGLES SUCK CHANTS were echoing throughout the stadium... The redskins fans clearly have more hatred for us than we do (or at least I do) for them.... It despite that was a very fun afternoon, I am telling you there is nothing like going to a road game to see your team play...

On a side note, my hotel that i stayed at in DC was the same hotel that the eagles were in sat into sunday... I have wondered where they stay in DC & i stumbled on it by chance, but the timing didn't work this year in that regard. I got down there sunday morning & by the time I got the rental car & all that, they had already left. If I had known they were staying in that hotel I would have made different plans, but now I know for next year.

Anyway, Lets analyze the eagles playoff chances: in as few words as possible ZERO, ZILCH, ZIP....Not going to happen

the eagles have to beat dallas, then hope the raiders beat the bucs

THEN hope that either the texans beat the bears or the giants beat the vikings.... Well you know I will never under any circumstances root for the giants, so The passionate side of me will be rooting hard for the texans & raiders next week, but the realist in me saw his season end yesterday evening at fed ex field.

Again Congrats to garfieldkool, your team stuck it to me again!

She's scared, she said it's easier for her to tape the game on another TV and watch something else on another TV For three hours and then chec the final score on foxsports.com. And if they win she will rewind the tape and watch it in it's entirety

LOL

She needs to toughen up and watch it. I watched that crap Saturday night and even stayed around for the post game celebrations even though I felt sick.

I agree with wholeheartedly.

There is no such thing as being scared of watching big games.

Can you imagine if Sonny said, "I won't watch that Cowboys/Redskins game. Too big of a game."

REAL FANS WATCH GAMES THAT MATTER!!

Also, real fans don't switch the channel when a game gets out of reach.

I'm a Bills fan, and I sat through EVERY PLAY in that 56-10 to the Pats last year.

I do remember turning the 1992 NFC Championship game off a few times late in the game because I was so nervous...but I did turn it back on.

Thanks, mriggles! I would love to go to Fed Ex Field just once! Anyway, shutting down a great QB like McNabb isn't easy to do, I was so surprised the defense played the way they did! The offense is another story. But, thanks again!
