I agree with the court ruling in this case, medical care should be the
responsibility of trained medical professionals, not ordinary citizens. I just hate to see a friendship and a potential career in Hollywood ended because of something like this. |

wow. i think the fact that the rescuer thought the car was going to explode makes it kind of hard to draw a conclusion.

That depends on the medical care needed. If you're in a restaurant and are choking to death are you going to allow a trained ordinary citizen to perform the Heimlich maneuver on you or are you going to wait until a trained medical professional arrives? My point is this, A person doesn't have to be a trained medical professional to render aid at an accident or anywhere else. If they have been properly trained to perform CPR, The Heimlich maneuver or other life-saving technique then they should be allowed to give aid if and when necessary. |

That woman got into a car driven by a man who (I'm assuming) was drinking voluntarily. She shouldn't be allowed to sue anyone.

I discussed this story on another forum yesterday. There are a lot of grey areas. First there was drinking and driving. Then I think friend was really panicked so she just pulled the woman not thinking she could hurt her. The situation is complicated but I feel there shouldn't be a lawsuit but the lawyers will argue that woman needs money to adapt her house, vehicles and other expenses etc.
