Default Why doesn't Nick@Nite air the first season?

Is it because the first season of Family Matters was pretty much Urkel-less?

Why did it take Nick@Nite this long to air it in the first place?

I believe they were editing the episodes or something and trying to make sure there was as much Urkel as possible and rearraging certain scenes. Not 100% though, so maybe somebody else can confirm that?

I wouldn't say that. After episode 12, he began to work his way into more scenes. His one sceners began to become three and four sceners throughout the last quarter of the first season.

Over here in Sweden, we show all episodes completely unedited. And when one of our networks air this show, they usually start with the pilote and go on from there. Not doing the same over in the US is just stupid.

Yes Furienna, we all know Sweden shows every episode unedited and that our country is stupid. Plus dont they only show seasons 1-7?

Nick at Nite didn't air season one and most of season nine because they wanted to start with a focus on S2-S8. So they didn't "convert" the episodes until later. Now all are converted and you will see them all. They have begun airing the later season nine episodes, and you'll see them later this month and season one starts Jan. 12. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/blog/20...2009-sees.html

My, aren't WE touchy!!! She just made a statement that they get all the uncut shows. And she never said America was stupid - just that it was stupid that the country that they originally came from doesn't do the same. I have to agree. Are you going to say I hate America too? Get over yourself!

Furienna, I don't know what advertising is like over in Sweden, but it seems like shows get cut to insert more and more advertising here. They're basically will to rape their own shows for the sake of the big advertising buck.

No, I never said, that America as a whole is stupid. I just think, that people shouldn't edit the episodes like that. It's just crazy, in my opinion. I've said it before, and even though it was a while ago now, some people still seem to be tired of hearing me say that.

As for your question, not all Swedish channels have comercials. No public channel has any comercial, and not even all non-public ones do. But even on those channels, which have comercials, we adjust the comercial breaks to the episodes, not the episodes to the comercial breaks.

And as for RebaFan1's question, we mostly focus on seasons 1 to 7. I actually haven't seen seasons 8 and 9 for ten years. (I've actually only seen one single episode out of the entire 9th season, and that was the last one, when Steve is in space.)

Yah, we used to be like that here too, but now because we pickup so much directly from the U.S., the episodes have already been chopped up on us so we get the same as the U.S. does. Sad. Meanwhile, if they only realized that a lot of us now would just rather buy a DVD rather than putting up with interrupted episodes they'd realize they're not gaining anything by inserting a couple of extra ads in the half hour - if anything, they're losing audiences because of it.

I was just kidding around! Furienna and I have talked about it before and are kind of friendly. So no hard feelings?

Don't listen Tripper Fan. Reba Fan is just trying to start some stuff. Don't take that mess lying down.

Don't be alarmed folks. THIS IS NOT THOMASE! It is his alter ego TimmyZ.

TimmyZ is known for starting trouble. LOL. ThomasE says "Cool. you guys have resolved your differences". TimmyZ says "throw punches to the left and to the right." LOL.
