WE GOT HIM!!!!!!!!! The Vancouver Canucks announced this afternoon they have signed coveted free agent Mats Sundin!!! After a long drawn out process Mats Sundin has selected Vancouver as his new hockey home. As a life long Canucks fan this is a very special Christmas Present!!

That was a surprise - we figured he was going to the Rangers. Since when can New York NOT afford someone?

Well, since we're never going to win a Cup in my lifetime again, you guys might as well! Hope he gets one - he deserves it.

I hope he wins a cup too!!! I think the reason the Rangers were unable to sign him is they had no room under the salary cap. They would have had to get rid of three or four other players to make room on their payroll. With so many other teams also dealing with salary cap issues of their own and the economy making this a bad time for other teams to take on extra salaries they were unable to pull it off. The Canucks on the other hand were operating 10 miillion dollars below the salary cap so were able to sign Mats without having to make other moves first. GO CANUCKS GO!

By the way TripperFan sorry about the Leafs!!!!LOL!
