Default Does anyone ever feel this way?

Have you ever felt that some of your relatives simply don't care for you? Ever since I was little I have always been left out by most of my dad's relatives and they really don't care for me. Both of my parents come from big families. My mom's family is pretty good and have always been there for me. My dad's family is different one of my uncles and one of my aunts have always been good to me. But the rest pretty much ignore. One of my other aunts really pisses me off. She is single and doesn't have kids. She is really hateful with me and rarely goes out of her way for me. But yet with my other cousins she acts like the nicest person in the world. She is always buying t hem stuff and taking them to movies. Growing up she never anything extra for me. She would give me presents every year for Christmas but she never went out of her way for me. One of my uncles is divorced and he has a ten year old son and my single aunt pretty goes out of her way for him and spoils him. She pays for a monthly cell phone billl for him. Most of my relatives rarely talk to me at events and I have gone out of my way for them. They feel that don't like me. Have any of you ever been in this position? Luckily I have really good friends who have done more for me than my relatives have. I feel that sometimes blood doesn't make a family.

Yeah it can be tricky with family, but I wouldnt let it get you down. If you have family and friends that really care for you cling to them.

Thats for you

Yeah, family is tricky and sometimes annoying. Don't let it bother you though. I'm sure we all have a family member who annoy us or we know someone who has a family member they don't care for.

Yeah, my mom's side of the family is huge, and at family events it definitely seems like the family is kind of divided. I know certain people don't care for me, but that's ok, because I'm not too fond of them, either.

There's the family that you are born into and the family that you make for yourself.

That's surprising, Michael, because you are so likable. I wish I was as likable as you. Here at SO you are the good Michael and I'm the bad Michael.

Having bad eye sight is no reason not to like someone.

I've always played second-fiddle to my idiot cousin ever since the drug-addict was born. My immediate family has always played second-fiddle to the rest of the family because heaven forbid...we're stable! Mothers seem to cling too tightly to their wayward children and ignore the good ones.

That's terrible that she doesn't accept for that reason. It sucks being ignored on purpose.
