I am starting to run out of adjectives of how well this show is doing in the ratings. For the fifth time in six weeks this show hit a series high in the ratings. It got 11.22 million viewers. Its ratings roll has been just remarkable. From CBS :

This show is doing great from last year, last year it was only doing 8 million an episode, and now it's doing over 10 million per episode!

By next year, would anyone be surprised if its pulling in a little under Two and a Half Men's numbers? A SAG strike would kill the buzz:P

We were hoping it would hit 10 million by the end of the year, and its already over 11 million. Absolutely remarkable - not only that, but it's clearly helping out How I met your Mother. Looks like the HIMYM/BBT switch from last spring was one of CBS's smartest moves of the year.
I think its already on its way to catching up to Two and a Half Men's numbers. I just hope it can maintain this momentum come January. |

Clearly, to any fan, the latest season of HIMYM has brought the show back to it's glory days (as season 3 had its weak moments). I feel the same about Two and a Half Men, which frankly, lacked some quality last season. BBT is an incredible show. Monday's episode brought it to another level, showing that the show is capable of handling two storylines in one episode (which, btw, has only been done in a few episodes so far). Julie, would you happen to know if season 2 is a 24 episode order or 22? I feel if it were 22, with the ratings, CBS would order two more scripts. |

I hope you are all correct, and BBT continues its ratings momentum in 2009. However, I am still worried about House. That is a very young skewing show, and can take away many viewers. I hope I am wrong, but I think House will hurt it. I still think BBT will do well, but not like in the first half.

CBS ordered 24 episodes before the season started.

I've been casually checking out the show since it started pretty much, but this season, especially since early November I have become a fan. It's now must-see for me each week. I'm glad to see it doing well.

I think the entire Monday night lineup for CBS has become must-see TV for many people.
House will probably hurt it slightly (it's always done its best on Monday nights), but I still have confidence in BBT and HIMYM. Both shows should easily hold their own against House - they did against DWTS afterall. Good thing its a 24 episode order - I wonder if CBS would be interested in extending it even past that. |
