Nice thread. Do you listen to rap GK? lol. Just wondering.

Britney Spears- well not completely hated but viewed different, in different ways in the past 2-3 years, mainly the last 2 years. Her music and image is popular to girls and guys around the world.

Eminem- his music and image is looked on by activists and media but is very popular- same with rapper Lil Wayne

All I can think of now, you mentioning music and rap specifically got me thinkin' directly about musicians mostly lol.

I stopped listening to rap about 10 years ago. I am an old schooler when it comes to rap.

Good. lol- just because I'm much younger then you, or for that generation, doesn't mean I don't know or listen to them lol. I love all of those but as far as old school hip hop, I mainly listen to Pac, Biggy, Big L, Big Pun, Rakim, KRS and a little bit of NBN, DU and a couple others. I listen to all those I mentioned though, plus more from back in the day lol. Anybody else I forgot that you listen to, from the late '70s-early '90s?

Oh sh*t, how the hell did I miss those 3? lol. I listen to, and love the 3 you mentioned as well. Although I wasn't much for Flavor Flav. That damn clock, his goofiness and general personality offset the group and wasn't enjoying to watch in my mind lol. Funny guy though.

Back then, it made you enjoy the music more, with the energy, respect and confidence being put into the songs. N.W.A, Public Enemy and Pac in general weren't afraid to tackle interesting and cornered subjects.

Speaking of EPMD and all this chat, in addition to what I said in the above post, Kool, did you ever see the movie Juice? lol. One of my favorite movies overall but I just pictured the scene where the 4 boys are stealing the EPMD record from the store, while the one dude talked to the chick while they left with the stolen record LOL. Anyways, that scene was great and the record they stole was a EPMD one.

I own the movie on DVD! I thought of that scene when I mentioned EPMD ironically! You should post of the movie and music thread more. I would, but they are not active like they should be.

Nice, I own the movie on dvd as well. That's nuts lol (in a good way) that we both thought the same thing, when posting about the old school hip hop subject. Yeah I do post in both forums occasionally. I like to post threads with a poll, to get everybody's opinion on what movies and music I love and enjoy lol. Yeah definitely, I love music & movies. That's probably my favorite all time rap/hip hop movie as well. Old school Cypress Hill is in that movie.

Young, extremely popular celebrites in general, especially the girls. People hate them and they hate each other. lol
