Default The Littlest Angel with Johnny Whitaker

Picked this up today at Walgreens for $2! public domain issue with a TV version of Miracle on 34th Street and the Scrooge version w/Seymour Hicks. Talk about a bargain!! Will be watching this soon.

I must admit I'm not familiar with this one. I do recall seeing him in Tom Sawyer (with Jodie Foster as Becky Thatcher), and wasn't he also in Johnny Tremain?

Don't know about Johnny Tremain, but I vividly remember the Tom Sawyer he did--that to me, was always the Tom Sawyer movie to me. (I know Mickey Rooney and Ron Howard also did versions).

TV

I haven't seen it since it first aired, on NBC. About all I can remember is that
Fred Gwynne (Car 54, The Munsters) had a key role in it.

NBC originally aired this on The Hallmark Hall of Fame. I remember seeing this rerun on a local station in 1980 and then eventually checking it out of my church library to watch it. It was a nice show, and addition to Johnny Whitaker, it starred Fred Gwynne, Tony Randall, and E.G. Marshall (as God!). Mary Jo Catlett, later of M*A*S*H and Diff'rent Strokes, had a bit role as an angel.

We watched it during the 1990-91 school year. Sorry, Jude!

I remember watching it when I was growing up, must have been about 1970. All I remember is, it was about a boy who goes to heaven, for some reason.

Correct, Treky. He plays a boy who dies in an accident, is introduced to life in Heaven, which is preparing for the birth of Jesus on earth and he wonders what gift he can present the Christ child.

Drove 5 miles to my local walgreens to see if by chance they had this in the bargain bin...no luck...I guess all walgreens aren't the same....
