But, who did you like more- Kristy or Valerie?

I wasn't alive in that era, but I personally think Valerie, in her younger years, was WAAAY hotter than Kristy.

Valerie definitely. Always was the biggest hearthrob. I didn't know one guy in my high school who wasn't totally in love with her. And girls liked her because she also seemed sweet and down to earth.

Kristy was a more relatable beauty, if that makes sense. She looked like a normal kid, not a bombshell. She was also very pretty on Empty Nest.

Actually, I remember when "Family" started and my mom was telling me about the young boy they had on the show - turned out it was Kristy! LOL

She was rather tomboyish until she hit puberty and then did blossom into a very pretty gal. Too bad the manic depression wasn't addressed and treated before it was and she left Hollywood for good.

^ Yes, that's what I meant when I said she was more relatable looking - like a typical teen rather than a beauty queen. I think that's why so many teenagers related to her. As for the manic depression, I give her kudos for putting her health above Hollywood and leaving the limelight to take care of herself. I wish her much happiness wherever she is now.

She just looked like the girl next door and her character on ODAAT was just so down to Earth, you couldn't help but love her.
