I am thinking of getting Direct Tv. It all came about when my phone bill became higher in price. The Rep said if we had internet, phone and tv all in one, the price would become $125.00 for all. She mentioned direct tv through Verizon. It sounded pretty good. We will save about $15.00. Currently on Comcast for just tv which in the past year has taken away 4 stations and we paid $60.00 for about 55 stations.
Any anyone had direct tv and how do you like it? A installer is coming to look us over and check us out in mid December. Thanks. |

We had Directv and I loved it, we never had a problem with them. Now, we have AT&T U-verse and I'm seriously thinking about going back to Directv.

i had it although that was maybe 10 years ago so can't really base a decision on me as i'm sure things have changed but for what its worth ..... depending where you live, it's hard for your local channels to come in and also depending on the weather the picture comes in scrambled or you lose signal altogether. i preferred digital cable over it. although, that was 10 years ago too, when dig. cab. was 1st introduced and it didn't have all the bells and whistles like it does now.

My mom had DirecTV a while back. Her only problem is every time we had a major storm she'd lose the signal, then she'd ask me to call them and get the signal restarted.

I have had dish network & direct tv.... I think all in all direct tv is better, but dish networks DVR's blow direct tv's away & overall it is much more user friendly than direct tv.... But if you or anyone you know is a football fan..direct tv has the nfl sunday ticket which is the greatest thing ever...plus direct tv is much quicker to add channels than dish network is.... If they add them at all.. It is true what they say...if it gets stormy you lose the signal quite often...make sure that the dish is in the best possible position to get the best signal to avoid that happening as often

I had it for a few years but then got tired of having to replace the converters due to whatever reason they got shorted out. Plus the fee for a converter in each room was getting ridiculous, so I went back to cable and bundled it with hi speed internet.

I only had Dish Network and it was great...until we didn't pay our bill for awhile and they demanded their box back even though we gave them the bill!
I would've sued their asses for that! |

I just got a follow up notice in the mail to say they are coming. I do live at the bottom of a hill and an in area storms can be windy. I am across from the ocean. Now I wonder if I made the right decision. They haven't come yet and I am still on Comcast. The notice does have lines of info to read regarding charges. It said we are on an 18 month agreement. I just hope they don't stick me with odds and ends and it ends up being more than what they said. I would hate to have the dish fly off and not get a picture. I will keep you posted. I thank everyone for their input.
