Nolan 'concerned' about 'Dark Knight' sequel

By Michael Thornton Christopher Nolan has said that he is worried that the third Batman movie he directs will not be as good as the previous two. Batman Begins and The Dark Knight have both been critical and commercial successes, but Nolan has confessed that he thinks second sequels are normally subpar. "I don't know why they're hard to do. Maybe there's so much expectation to them. I wouldn't want to do one if it weren't going to be as good as the first or second. That's not respectful to the fans," he told USA Today. The director added that he does not want the third film in the series to take away from the work he has put into the previous two Batman adventures. "It was obvious when the box office was so big that we had underestimated how ready fans were to reboot the franchise," he said.
