"Richie's Birthday"

Scene- Terri and Larry's Apartment
Time- 5:00 AM

Richie goes into the room and starts jumping on the bed. Larry wakes up

Larry: What are you doing, Richie? It's 5:00 AM!

Richie: It's my burp-day!

Larry: I know it is! You're four now.

Richie: Where are my birthday presents?

Larry: In Tim-buck-too!

Richie: Where's that?

Larry: Africa. But be careful! In the 1800's, only one foregner got out of their- ALIVE!

Richie: Was it you?

Larry: I'm not that old!

Richie: Oh yes you are!

Terri: What's going on?

Richie: Daddy hid my presents in Tim-Buck-Too!

Terri: You can have your presents later!

Richie: Please, mommy!

Terri: Later!

Richie (Phony British Accent): Please, mother dearset?

Terri: Well, you can open ONE!

Terri goes out of the room, and comes back with a huge present

Richie: Wow!

Larry: Open it!

Richie opens it. It's a train set!

Richie: I like it mom and dad, but.......do I look like Arnold Jackson?

Terri: Where do you learn these things?

Richie: I watch, like, television, man!

Richie leaves

Larry: Is it me, or is Richie a little bit more- independent?

The train set is heard, and then Jennifer cries

L&T: Oh no!

Later......

Scene- Living Room

They are having a party, wrapping paper is all over the floor. Jennifer is crawling all over the floor

The doorbell rings. Janet opens the door. Standing there is-Chrissy!

Janet: Oh, hi, Chrissy!

Chrissy: Oh, the steps aren't that high! <Snort>

Janet: Okay, sit down over here.

Jack is crawling on the floor with Jennifer. Jennifer props herslelf up and walks one step

Jack: Everyone! Jennifer took one step!

Commotion starts. Everyone (Except for Chrissy) Crowd Around Her

Richie: Everyone! Come Back!

No one listens

Richie: This isn't fair!

Chrissy: Richie, whats wrong?

Richie: Everyone is paying attention to Jennifer!

Chrissy: Well, I'll be your friend and stcik with you!

Richie: Thanks, Chrissy!

They hug as Screen Fades
