Question Are you afraid your job could be next?

In light of massive nationwide layoffs, do you fear you might lose your job in the next year or two? I feel pretty secure with my job at the moment but anything could happen. I just pray that we will all make it throught this somehow.

I already lost mine in June and my EI benefits run out at the end of January.

I'm effectively screwed.

I feel safe with my job, I'm not in jeopardy or losing it. I feel for those who are getting layoff notices this month and next month, and for those who have lost their jobs.

I work in the automotive industry and we are not safe as you can tell. I dont spend my time worrying or stressing out about it, but I keep it in the back of my mind. To be honest I dont know what I will do or what will happen. I'll just have to pray and hope like I always do.

That said a part of my also wont be dissapointed because quite frankly I dont like my job. Its boring and non challenging on an intellecutal level.

Yeah, but not because of the economy. More likely because of certain people at my work who are attempting to do something to screw my job over. If the student I work with ends up in a different room, I either lose my job or I quit. So I'm hoping it doesn't happen, but I'm pretty sure it will.

I'm going to try and keep my janitorial job at the church as much as I can.

I work at a grocery store so I honestly have no idea. Btw for all who participated in my last thread about my job, since the manager I had before was replaced, things have gone much better

the woman there now is much nicer, and doesn't bring a negative attitude to work.

about losing jobs though, my mom, aunt, and my dad have all come close to losing their jobs this month, but thankfully they didn't and others that work with them were sent away.

That's good news. Hope everyone here will keep their jobs. Good luck to everyone. We have to just stay positive.
