Question Shall The Internet End In 2011. Yes Or No.

Due to numerous cases of identity theft, virsues, online predators, etc.

The internet may come to a close in 2011.And that means the plug on
the world wide web will end the tech savy craze.Since 1995,The internet
has been at full force at all jobs, schools, homes and other places.
Should this tech superhighway finally be closed,Without any hopes
of reopening. What are your thoughts.

Where did you hear that it may come to an end in 2011?

wah, wah...that stuff happens offline too. cars are a leading cause of death, but we haven't banned them because we need them. the benefits of teh internets outweigh the dangers, all of which are more or less preventable. to further my point, anyone who would preach to me about how dangerous teh internets can be doesn't know who they're talking to. having my offline safety threatened for years via teh internets wasn't a big deal after all.

i do think the internets will crash on their own someday though. i recommend everyone keep files and web pages saved to an offline location. kind of like stocking up on food in case a big storm hits, ya know.

I really don't care. I survived before the internet, I'll survive after.

I don't see that ever happening. So many people's livelihoods involve working online. Who said that, anyway?

Did the Mayan Calendar predict this too??

But like Bandito, I survived before the net and will do so after the net.
Although the net has been a lot of positive things for me.

Hey - the WORLD was supposed to come to an end in 1984 and a couple of times after that. * checks self * - yup - I'm still here so I think the internet will also be for many generations to come.

That's like saying that Henry Ford was going to shut down car production after the first car accident. I don't know your source for this little gem, but I suspect the author's name is Chicken Little!

No!

The World has used the internet to blog, talk, and all that. Our chit-chatting would end!

If it does Oh well, I have lived for 18 years without the internet, I think I could live without it.

If it does for a while, I won't miss it too much because it seems like it wastes more of my time than anything. I cannot remember a time when I've used it for something other than leasure or to buy something.
I do predict that in a few years Google will no longer be the top search engine (Like Google eclipsing Yahoo, something has got to give and eclipse Google soon), LiveJournal will finally have a major crash that will drive users away or it will be bought out by another company and be rendered useless like Geocities and MySpace won't be so trendy anymore and fade into obscurity. YouTube is already becoming less popular because of their rights restrictions and the Viacom code (I'm really liking DailyMotion these days).

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/n...arns-OECD.html

this is the closest thing i could find to any evidence of the internets ending in 2011, albeit it could easily be outdated. nothing about "omg hackerz" either.
