Default Black Friday anyone?

did anyone go shopping today? what was your experience like...the good and the bad?

i went shopping, but definitely not as early as everyone else. i was way too tired to get up early so i went around 10. the mall was PACKED and the sales were alright. nothing too exciting in my opinion. i think last year had much better sales. i was trying to do some christmas shopping for people, but i didn't find anything at a reasonable price, except for dvds of movies and shows. plus, i didn't have much patience to go from store to store. lol. i guess the only good deals in town this year were for electronics and stuff. oh well, there's going to be plenty of sales between now and christmas.

Nope - I had to work (in an office building, mind you) and went straight home. If I didn't have to work, I'd have slept in. I have a phobia about crowds, especially in stores.

I'm usually not a black Friday shopper. There really isn't anything that I need to get that bad, I don't care how cheap it is, to get me up that early, and to go through all the BS with the "barbaric" crowds.

You couldn't pay me to be out in the madness on that day.

Okay, i'll admit, that I did go shopping on Black Friday - for myself.
I didn't get up at the crack of dawn like the hardcore nutjobs. There was still plenty to choose from when I went in the afternoon, and the crowds weren't bad at all.
I'm still in NJ visiting the folks for the holiday, so i went out to one of the local shopping centers to pick up some work clothes for the new job.
Got 2 pairs of jeans at Old Navy - 15 bucks each and a fleece pullover for ten bucks!
Some flannel shirts and thermal henley shirts at Modell's for 12 bucks each.
Not bad for an hours work.

That made me laugh TJL thanks.

I will never go out on that day. Seems like it gets worse every year.

My wife went out, I HATE shopping, I guess it's a man thing lol. She was complaining about the sales also, and thought there were better deals last year too.

I didn't sleep for 48 hours. And the sad part is, I came home with ONE item. Yes, ONE item! A goddarn, $20 backpack (that I probably could've gotten off eBay for the same price!).

I spent the day at Woodbury Outlet in NJ (anyone ever been?) Waited in traffic for a good 4-5 hours, stood on line for 30 minutes waiting for the restroom. Stood on line for another 45 minutes for Starbucks coffee. And stood on line for 30 minutes for each additional store I wanted to get into.

It sucked.

Never again.

But at least now I can say I did it!

Nope, I was way too tired to even think about it. I did last year, but this year...No way.

It's really fun, but not worth feeling half dead for on a day when you should be taking it easy.

Hell no. I love saving money, but the amount of money I may save is no where near the saving of my health, mental state, etc. Totally ridiculous and NOT worth it.

How much can I save in gas and time by shopping online anyway?

I did it this yr but NOT EARLY like the fanatics...if the bargain I wanted got picked over so be it....but I'm never doing it again...usually I buy bargains during the yr for my XMAS gifts and store them in a foot locker...but for some reason this yr I didn't do that. But I'm going back to it. NEVER AGAIN will I shop Black Fri - it was exhausting & stressful - and from now on everytime I think abt this day I get a sick feeling in my stomach...I think about that poor man trampled to death at Walmart. Also, I'm like Monika....I HATE CROWDS & waiting on long lines.
