Default Anyone sick of Dancing with the Stars already???

First, it was "American Idol", now it's this "Dancing with the Stars" crap!! I am SOOOOOOOO sick of this show already!! Everytime I turn on the news anymore it's all "Dancing" this, "Dancing" that!! ENOUGH ALREADY!!!!!! Not to mention that the people usually wind up looking like complete morons when they try dancing with the seasoned professionals. I hate all reality shows, but this show gets on my nerves the way it's just always on the news and it's all anyone can seem to talk about (that is when they aren't talking about Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, The Jonas Brothers, "Twilight" and "American Idol" of course)! I mean the country is in an economic crisis right now, trains in the New York area are being derailed left and right, people are losing their jobs....I want to see news on that and how we can come up with a solution to these problems...not see a bunch of has-beens who make themselves look like complete idiots on a stupid dance show! Here's how it usually goes: "The country is in an economic crisis right now. People are losing their jobs, companies are shutting down and families are losing their homes....And now, let's see who won on 'Dancing with the Stars'!!" And get this, they even have a clone on Fox called "So You Think You Can Dance"!! ARGH!!!!! WHEN WILL THIS MADNESS END?!?!?!?!?!?!

I never got the appeal of Dancing with the Stars, it's incredibly overrated. I didn't even watch when Steve Guttenberg was on and I'm sort of a fan of his.

I haven't watched a single episode, but I get barraged by the coverage of it and I can tell it is a giant load of fly-infested CRAP! And I thought "American Idol" was bad. But this show, from what I've seen of it, is a load of poop! I remember last year when Marie Osmond fainted that was all anyone could talk about. It became, like, national news. Know why she fainted? She was dizzy with wonder as to why she even took part in such a crappy show.

Well sorry, but you're in the minority here. You hear about it all the time because it's ABC's most popular show and makes them a TON of money.

It's a GREAT show imo. This year was one of the best because of Cloris Leachman too. They drove the censors crazy this year.

I know what you mean with the advertising and all, but bottom line is that it's one of the most popular shows on T.V. now (as was Idol - I didn't watch the last one cuz I'm tired of it).

It's like Sex In The City. I never got that show's popularity and just put up with all the stupid hype about it. Not much else you can do.

When a TV station/network portrays one of their own TV shows as news, to me, it really cheapens the news program.

If you want nothing but doom and gloom when you watch t.v. stick with MSNBC or CNN - true news stations. Since when are we supposed to watch news 24/7.

In times of economic crisis or war, it's been proven that people want and need a relief from that. These shows are for that and those people who want to escape for a couple of hours in a day. Why do you think musicals got so big during the last depression and 2nd world war? Escapism.

I don't know how you can make such a strong statement about a show when you admit you've never watched a minute of it. Seeing ads and quick little news clips doesn't show the whole thing and it's out of context. It makes the "news" because it's a live show - the same as Idol was. Things happen on live t.v. - like Marie fainting, etc. That's why it made news. You don't see that everyday.

You might like it Aaron. What I like about it is even though it's called a reality show, the people are entertainers, so it's not like other reality shows where it's just regular idiots showing off.

I consider it more of a variety / entertainment show. And the celebrities usually get VERY good at dancing by the end of it. If not, they're at least funny and still entertaining.

I hate dancing in all its forms, and the worst part is, Corner Gas was shoved into a 9:30 time slot to make room for this dumb show, which, apparently has at least something to do with Brent deciding to end it after only 6 seasons!

Okay, before we get into a stupid argument here, all I was saying is whenever the news is on, we want to see OTHER stories about OTHER things going on (even besides the news) in entertainment besides "DWTS". I'm basically venting about reality TV in general, pal. No need to get on my case. Just voicing an opinion.

I only saw the ones in which Ted McGinley appeared. Aside from those, I've never seen it.

I wasn't going for an argument - just pointing out that it sounded like you were bashing the show more than the news that keeps providing stories about DWTS. I know every morning I open my Yahoo there's something about it, but that's not DWTS fault - its the news agencies who have nothing better to report on.

You really should give the show a chance though. It can be funny as hell. Last night's finale had me laughing so hard I had to hold my stomach (and I was alone)!!

At least it's more upbeat than reporting on Lohan's lastest drunken brawl or Britney's shaved #$@% for all to see!
