The trial started today from the incident that happened from 2006 when a 13 year old girl, Megan Meier, hung herself due to the comments made by a fake MySpace profile. A mother, daughter, and a acquaintance set up a phony MySpace profile in order to get to the bottom of an incident that happened between the mother's daughter and Megan Meier.

After a comment was sent out saying "The world will be better off without you." Megan then hung herself in her bedroom closet; the girl suffered from clinical depression and had self-esteem issues.

The courts have made clear that this is a "MySpace trial" to determine if they violated MySpace's terms of service and this is not if they are responsible for the girl's death.

We'll see what happens...

How the hell is it Myspaces fault? It's not the computers or Myspace's fault. They didn't physically choke her to death.

It's not MySpace's fault.

The trial currently going on is to determine whether or not these people violated MySpace's terms of service. This not a homicide trial it's a "MySpace trial".

It is not MySpace's fault. It is the fault of the so-called adult who allowed this to happen.

wait, so this isn't for determining whether or not she should face jail time for bullying the girl? it's just to see if she violated the terms of myspace's rules/regulations? iiiinteresting. she better face some jail time for what she did. though she didn't kill the girl personally, the fact that she drove her to kill herself is enough for me.

Correct, this trial isn't a murder trial or about bullying. They are being charged with conspiracy and using computers without proper authority; violating the terms of service on MySpace.
