Default The Christmas Tree Lot

I know this episode has been discussed before, but it a nice show with both Ozzie and Rick singing the same song. I thought I saw Connie Harper make an appearance as a woman interested in buying a Christmas Tree.

You probably did see Connie. Before Dave started workiong at the law office and Connie was Miss Edwards, she could be seen in lots of episodes either in the background or with small group and given one or two lines.

The Christmas Tree lot is one of my favs.

Another of my favorite Christmas episodes that I don't think is out on dvd yet is where the Fraturnity buys a piano. The whole group of Nelsons and Frat party sing a few Christmas songs. Santa Clause is Coming to Town, and Ricky sings Jingle Bells. Oh I love all the Chrstmas episodes. I wish the Christmas dvd carried all the Christmas episodes.

I agree, they should have come out with a Holiday DVD with all the Christmas and Thanksgiving episodes on it.

Oh good. I lile that episode because I like singing along with them.

I also really like the ones where Ozzie gets all nostalgic about Christmases when the boys were small and dreams of going skating the day after Christmas.
The other one I really like when Ozzie tells the story about when he was a little boy. Ozzie's boyhood is recareated Oz is his father, Harriet's his mother David is brother Al and Ricky is Ozzie. This is one of the younger episodes. I know the name of it, I always called it Can Ozzie Make it Snow.

And Thanksgiving, glad you brought that up Janine the Dream! I love the Thanksgiving episode. I will have to dig that one out this week.
20 years or more after firsts seeing it my sisters and I still say "Turkey Turkey Turkey!!! " quoting from the episode. The premise is that the Nelsons go to Harriets aunts for Thanksgiving. Her aunt is Grandma Walton, Ellen Corby. Ozzie and the boys insist that they don't want a turkey at home because they will escape having to eat all those turkey leftovers. Day after Thanksgiving, Ozzie and boys keep hearing from all their friends and neighbors all the turkey leftover dishes and sandwhiches everyone is having; leaving them wanting TURKEY TURKEY TURKEY!!! Harriet tries looking all over town for a turkey after Thanksgiving with none to be found.

Ok I really have to go dig out that episode now!

I finally watched the Christmas Dvd and it was so cute the way Wally was taking the older lady out at the end. Wally was smaller and shorter than I ever remembered him being. This show had at least seven Christmas shows that I can remember and I like them all, especially Busy Christmas.

I agree, Busy Christmas is a classic. The scene in the orphanage is very well done.

Actually it is out. I got it on one of those $1 DVDs (think it was by Digiview). It had The Christmas Tree Lot, A Piano For The Fraternity and an Xmas ep from The Jack Benny Show. I got it at Conway's a discount store in NYC.

I agree! It's a charming ep that I've watched many times. And poor Ozzie is soooo busy in this ep. But he better watch those multiple desserts unless he wants to split another holiday costume LOL!! And I always LOVE the eps that have a time flashback. Esp. charming is seeing the family (with grandkids0 in the end. IMO, the show at its finest.

A Piano For The Fraternity is another special charmer. (But then ALL the Xmas eps are good!!)

Yes, I remember seeing Connie here and there - usually for a very brief moment - before she "officially" became Miss Edwards, the crackerjack and ulta-poised law office sec'y par excellance!!

Poor Ozzie, he tried to do so much that night but as usual Harriet came through to save their Christmas.
